Marty gets a call from the elegant woman. He's to keep track of all future returns and report back to her. Fred, who dumps all his booze and leaves his wedding ring on the kitchen table, is also following orders from this woman. The two men work together to check out a possible return of Caleb at his shack. Elaine assures Fred that her father is not coming back. Things are strained between the two of them following Fred's past drunken attempt to make a move on her.

Henry lets his mother know that he turned over the day-to-day operations of the factory after Jacob died. Eventually it closed down. Margaret learns that Maggie is her granddaughter. She later meets Marty. She has a sense that the two of them have met before. That would be impossible though. Marty heads out to talk to Jacob, who buries a crow that dropped dead in the yard while he was playing. Marty wants to know if there's been any feeling about Caleb's return. Jacob has only felt his grandmother lately.

Rachael wants to find her own place. This doesn't go over well with Tom, who wants to keep her and the baby safe. He resigns as pastor. Janine suggests that he start his own church. She heads off to gather a few things from the house. A sonogram image of Racheal's unborn baby causes her to break down in tears. Later, Tom comforts Rachael after she has a dream about being trapped in a fire. The two of them nearly kiss. Tom pulls away before anything happens. Later that night, Janine returns to him.

Maggie meets her grandmother for the very first time. She gives Margaret a clean bill of health. There's no sign of cancer. Margaret's speech about the importance of having a family is cut short when Marty rushes into the office. He found the person who has been living in the hunting shack. It's not Caleb. It's an ill man named Arthur Holmes. He died in 1935. Holmes says the last thing he remembers is a fire. He's different from the others who have returned. He's sick. The others all came back healthy.

Margaret is devastated when she sees how the family furniture factory has gone to ruins. She blames Henry for giving up. The factory was their family's legacy. Margaret doesn't know Arthur Holmes, but she does remember that he worked at the factory. She asks to visit with him. A short time later, Arthur Holmes is gone. The elegant mystery woman tells Marty that finding him should be his only concern. The samples Maggie took from Holmes are also gone.

Lucille gets angry when she finds Jacob burying dead crows in the yard. Margaret comforts her grandson. She knows others don't understand them. The two of them burn the dead crows and watch as the smoke rises into the sky. Later, Marty stops by the house. He gets Jacob to admit that he knows that he is returned. Marty asks that they keep this a secret for now. Later that night, Margaret digs into the ground at the old family factory. A disturbing scene is unveiled beneath the dirt. The skulls and bones that are revealed cause Margaret to shudder.
