At Amy and Vance's wedding rehearsal, drill sergeant-cum-wedding planner Leigh runs through everyone's roles for different unlikely scenarios such as an ex-lover showing up at the wedding. There's even a contingency plan if the maid of honor Julia acts out...

The night before the wedding, Dave keeps Vance company for a sleepover on his last night as a single man. Dave gets a text and steps to the door to greet Amy. Amy's worried that Vance is going to ditch her at the altar, based on some weird signals he's been giving off. Amy thinks Vance laughed a little too hard at a joke at dinner about him running off to Mexico. Dave promises Amy that Vance is going to step up. Amy needs to get back to Julia, whom we see crying her way through "Dirty Dancing." Amy comments that Julia's not a pretty cryer. Dave agrees.

The next morning, Leigh continues with her drill sergeant ways, bossing around the staff at the wedding venue. Dave checks in with Julia, asking how she's feeling about her toast. He throws down the gauntlet, commenting that while this isn't a competition, there are going to be a lot of older ladies there, which is his demo. Julia plans to use the Vance-and-Amy meeting story, which she's sure will be hilarious. But Dave protests - he was planning to use that story. As they argue over the toast, Leigh approaches, wondering why they're not sticking close to Vance and Amy ("up in his/her jock"), who are "high flight risk B and Gs." Leigh spots Vance looking contemplative by the window. Dave promises he won't let Vance talk himself out of the wedding.

Rex stops by to ask Vance about his specific role in the wedding. Rex doesn't have one, because beyond the best man and maid of honor, he and Amy aren't having a wedding party. Rex insists he wants a spot in the wedding. As guests begin to arrive in the hotel lobby, Amy descends the stairs to greet them. Amy's lonely single cousin Dina is already drunk and complains to Dave and Julia that she's going to lose it if she's stuck at the singles' table. Just then, an attractive man approaches her from across the room and asks if he can get to know her. As they walk away, Leigh explains to Dave and Julia that the attractive man is a "calmer" she uses at all her weddings. Leigh's pleased with Amy's calm demeanor, but Vance isn't there. Leigh orders Dave to stick close to Vance, even in the bathroom.

Dave finds Vance as he emerges from the bathroom, starting to lose his cool. As Dave listens, they're interrupted by Leigh's calmer, who tries to help. Dave insists he's got this covered. Reverend Ann, the attractive woman who will be performing the wedding, tells Vance that she needs him to go over some wedding details. In the meantime, Julia chats with Amy's Aunt Bobie. Dave approaches and charms Aunt Bobie, arguing with Julia once again over who should get to tell the Vance-and-Amy meeting story. Julia tells Dave to go ahead and tell the story if he wants, but she'll be telling it first, because the maid of honor toast is before the best man toast. Behind Julia's back, Dave proceeds to tell the story to as many wedding guests as he can find.

Still at the barbershop, Vance describes the powerfully calming touch of Reverend Ann, convinced she's the woman for him. Rex interrupts to share the news that he's now the flower man. Dave tries to shut Rex up, which only fuels his fire. Vance springs out of his chair, proclaiming his love for Reverend Ann. He needs to go tell Amy.

In the bridal suite, Amy models her wedding gown for Julie, Leigh and her female relatives. Everyone tells her how beautiful she looks, including a weepy Julia, who nearly dissolves into another ugly cry. Vance knocks on the door. Just as he's about to blurt out everything to Amy, Rex tackles him and Dave shuts the door. In the hallway, Rex and Dave pin Vance and talk him down. Just as Vance realizes he may not be in love with the minister, the camera pulls back to reveal Amy, Julia, Leigh and the rest of the women standing a few feet away, listening. Dave tells Vance that Amy's ready to bolt, so he has to say something to make her feel calm and secure. Vance bluffs: the guys were trying to stop him from seeing Amy in her wedding dress before the ceremony, but to tell her he loves her.

In the bridal suite, Julia helps Amy primp. Amy starts to freak out, so Julia gives Amy her dip. In the hallway, Rex hones his flower man skills. Leigh grooms Little Vance. Julia and Dave regroup in their hotel room. Julia calls Dave out on telling the Vance-and-Amy meeting story to everyone. It's alright, because she has a great idea for a new comedic speech, a top 10 list a la Letterman, of the top 10 reasons Vance and Amy shouldn't have gotten married. Dave thinks it's a terrible idea. Julia looks for her list to prove that it's funny, but it's missing. We cut to Vance reading the list. He panics and heads to the airport. At the hotel, Dave, Julia, Rex and Leigh find Vance's room empty. Leigh finds Julia's list and thinks Vance made it.

At the airport, Vance literally bumps into Amy, who's in her wedding dress. They fight over who left who at the altar. Amy saw Vance freaking out over Julia's list on his balcony and assumed he was going to run away, so she headed to the airport first. They continue baiting each other until Vance tells Amy she's beautiful. They kiss, then try to get a man they think is an airline captain to marry them right there - but he's a flight attendant, so no luck. Vance and Amy start fighting again - wondering what the heck they're doing. They recognize that neither of them will ever be the "sane" one in the relationship. But when they're happy, they're so happy...

At the venue, Leigh paces around, stressed about where Vance and Amy are. Her calmer takes her hand for a moment and works his magic. Dave's phone rings. It's Vance. He and Amy aren't coming. Leigh looks to Dave to tell the guests, so he asks Julia to come with him. Dave announces that the wedding isn't going to happen and makes a lovely speech about using the night to celebrate Vance and Amy. This inspires another ugly cry from Julia. Leigh tells Rex that his sister needs him and he should go cover her face.

Later that night, Julia and Dave lie in bed discussing Amy and Vance. They wonder if they'll break up. Julia asks Dave to promise this won't happen to them; they'll be together forever. Dave promises they will. From the other side of the bed, we hear Rex's voice promising Leigh that they'll be together forever as well, longer than Dave and Julia. Leigh thanks Dave and Julia for letting them crash at their place. Rex and Leigh get the last word of the season, complaining about the fact that the mattress isn't king-size and there's not enough space for all of them.
