Parks and Recreation Episode 6.21-22 Moving Up

Leslie is in San Francisco to attend the National Parks Conference, and life is busily speeding along. She's pregnant with triplets and contemplating accepting a major promotion that will take her out of Pawnee, plus, the Unity Concert is in six days! Ben and Andy are tagging along in San Francisco to meet with a tech start-up while Leslie attends the conference.

Leslie runs into Grant at the conference, and he introduces her to her National Parks Department heroes, including Michelle Obama herself (awkwardly). During Leslie's presentation, Parks Department directors from around the country criticize her plans regarding the Pawnee-Eagleton merger. According to her counterparts, she's drastically underestimated the amount of time it will take to execute a smooth merger. She wants to accept Grant's job offer, but she doesn't want to leave Pawnee mid-merger. Ben takes Leslie on a San Francisco tour and, after some heartfelt convincing, she accepts Grant's job offer.

Andy and Ben meet with tech start-up Gryzzl, which is looking to launch free Wi-Fi networks in a select number of cities. Ben wants Gryzzl to consider Pawnee for its Wi-Fi project, but the company is interested in a larger market. On the way out of the building, Ben notices that a group of employees are playing the game he invented, The Cones of Dunshire! Ben challenges the company's founder to a battle of Cones. If he wins, Gryzzl has to take their free Wi-Fi program to Pawnee. The game is on! After a rousing match, Ben wins the game of Cones, and Gryzzl is suddenly very interested in supporting Pawnee, the home of the Architect of Cones of Dunshire.

Meanwhile, back in Pawnee, Tom meets with his investor to discuss the opening of Tom's Bistro. In order to benefit from the concert crowd, Tom promises a soft opening of the restaurant in 24 hours. It's a tough order, considering that the bistro is nowhere near ready to open, but Tom has the utmost confidence in his motley crew of supporters, even though Craig's sense of taste is shot due to his allergies, Ron has about 116 chairs to make, and Larry accidentally printed photos of his dog's anus on the menus.

The soft opening of Tom's Bistro fails miserably, and Tom's investor pulls out at the last second. Tom is ready to give up, but Ron and April convince him to follow through with the official opening of Tom's Bistro, and he reluctantly agrees.

Bay cities and restaurant openings aside, the team huddles up to focus on putting the finishing touches on the Pawnee-Eagleton Unity Concert. Before they all head out, Leslie informs the Parks team that she's taking the job at the National Parks Department. The team is very happy for her, but the news makes their surprise gift for her a little ironic: they've put up a plaque in Leslie's honor in front of City Hall.

Across town, the Unity Concert officially kicks off with a performance from The Decemberists. Donna's cousin Ginuwine and Letters to Cleo. Tom tries to convince Pawnee's most affluent celebrity guests to attend the grand opening of Tom's Bistro. Grant informs Leslie that she'll have two staff positions to fill in her new position, so she's welcome to bring any of her current staff with her to Chicago. Leslie interviews her employees about joining her staff in Chicago, but they all want to stay in Pawnee.

Ron runs into Tammy 2, but he's unfazed by the presence of the demon hell spawn. It seems that joining his life with Diane and the girls has given him the power to overcome the sewer-dwelling devil witch once and for all. Andy's Johnny Karate performance is a hit with the kids, but he kind of misses performing in a band.

To top off the concert, Andy introduces recently reunited band Land Ho (led by Wilco frontman, Jeff Tweedy). After Land Ho's finale, April presents Andy with a surprise: she's reunited Mouse Rat to close out the concert! Joined by all the other concert performers, Andy leads a rendition of "Bye Bye, Lil Sebastian" complete with a hologram Lil' Sebastian and a guest appearance from the one and only Duke Silver!

After the concert, Tom gears up for the grand opening of Tom's Bistro. Dr. Saperstein stops by the empty restaurant to rub Tom's failure in his face, but before Saperstein can get to it, the restaurant begins to fill with the hottest celebrities in Pawnee. Later that night, Saperstein offers to become a partner in Tom's Bistro, but Tom declines. He'll go it alone on this one. Ben's old accounting buddies arrive with a gift for their favorite number cruncher: they took the liberty of copyrighting the Cones of Dunshire in his name!

Unfortunately, Leslie was unable to convince any of her staff to join her team in Chicago. After a quick heart-to-heart with Ron, Leslie has an epiphany. The next day, Leslie submits a proposal to Grant: she offers to relocate the National Parks Department to the empty third floor of Pawnee City Hall. Her team makes a presentation running through the financial benefits of moving the organization from Chicago to Pawnee, and Grant likes the idea. One month later, Leslie starts her new job with the National Parks Department in her new office, one floor above her old one. It's everything she could ever want.
