Leslie and Chris welcome the city employees of the town formerly known as Eagleton. Since Eagleton is now part of Pawnee, the employees must be reassigned to their respective Pawnee departments, and the Parks Department is no exception. The good news is that the office is bustling with a collection of vibrant new characters. Unfortunately, it's also teeming with redundancy, so Leslie will have to decide which employees to keep and which ones to send packing.
Before the doppelgangers arrive, Leslie announces that, much to everyone's disappointment, she's re-hired Jerry to help out with the extensive amount of filing that the Eagleton absorption entails. April decides to refer to Jerry as "Gary" from now on, and it instantly sticks. Even Jerry is confused about his own name now. Meanwhile, Chris and Ben pull some of their old accounting tricks on the Eagleton accountants, just like old times.
At long last, the Parks employees are introduced to their Eagleton Doppelgangers. April is matched with Tynnyfer, a full-on real housewife of Eagleton. Donna's Doppelganger is Craig, an irate workhorse who seems to care more about his job than anybody, even Leslie. Ron's doppelganger, also named Ron, seems like a perfect match right from the start. Tom discovers that his Eagleton equivalent is a computer program named E.R.I.C. When Leslie mistakes the software for an actual person, Tom decides to slander the imaginary employee so that he can keep his job.
Ann finally musters up the nerve to tell Leslie that she and Chris are contemplating leaving Pawnee, and Leslie does not take it well. Ann came equipped with a giant plate of waffles to help distract Leslie from the pain and anger she's feeling. Unfortunately, Leslie is so hurt by the news that even waffles can't squelch her disappointment.
Trying to put the bad news aside, Leslie begins interviewing the Pawnee employees and their Eagleton doppelgangers to determine who should stay and who should be let go. April and Tynnyfer are getting along fantastically, which only irritates Leslie. During her interview with Ron and Eagleton Ron, Ron discovers that he hates everything that Eagleton Ron stands for. He's a vegan, an environmentalist and an animal rights activist. He's basically everything that Pawnee Ron doesn't stand for.
Leslie is still enraged over the news from Ann, so she decides to ditch all of her Pawnee friends and enlist their Eagleton doppelgangers as her new best friends. Of course, Leslie comes on too strong too fast, and the Eagletonians are completely bewildered. Before she can embarrass herself any further, Ron drags Leslie into his office and gets to the heart of the issue, telling Leslie that she should be happy for Ann instead of being selfish and angry.
Leslie finally makes amends with Ann. It won't be an easy transition, but at least Leslie's accepting the reality of the situation now. Leslie eventually fires Eagleton Ron, and Donna convinces her to keep Craig on the staff, since he works harder than anyone she's ever met. At a dinner, Chris tells Ben that he and Ann are planning to leave Pawnee, and Ben is happy for them. April convinces Tynnyfer to leave Pawnee and stay at her beach house in Miami, which is actually Dwyane Wade's house.
