Things get steamy in a young couple's car when - BOOM! - a bloody body crashes into the windshield. The body belongs to 25-year-old Zack Hill, who was carrying a weekend's worth of cocaine on him. His death was reported as a suicide off the bridge, but Reynaldo's not so sure, since Zach's injuries were inconsistent with the fall. Laura looks a little more carefully at Zach's scuffed-up shoes, which are covered with fluorescent body paint. He must have been murdered at a rave.

Laura tracks down Zack's brother Brian at his mechanics shop. Brian's devastated - after all, Zach was all he had after their parents died. Brain explains the two of them were close, but nothing alike. Club kid Zach spent all the money he made at a security job in the Diamond District getting glammed up and partying like a rock star, a lifestyle Brian did not approve of. At the precinct, Frankie does some digging and discovers a high-end rave at the Westman Brewery in Red Hook. Jake sends Laura and an over-eager Frankie to check it out, but Laura's not leaving until she gets a word in with Jake. He introduced his new "fire hottie" girlfriend Angela to the twins, breaking the divorced parent's code! Jake dismisses Laura with an eye roll - she's not mad at him; she's confused about her relationship with Tony. "Go rave," the Captain orders.

When the detectives get to the neon party full of glow sticks and pacifiers, they notice shady, drug-dealing bartender Clint right away. Frankie asks him for some water, which turns out to be "molly water" - spiked with MDMA. When Frankie starts swaying and rambling, Clint realizes his new friend is a cop and runs off through the crowd of dancing ravers. Laura throws a bucket of glow sticks in the air, making it impossible for Clint to escape. As Laura arrests him, she finds a few bags of cocaine in his pocket... Laura puts Frankie in a holding cell to sweat out the drugs while Billy questions Clint about his stash and Zack's murder - an unpaid debt could be motive to kill. Clint insists he's innocent, flashing an expensive watch Zack gave him to settle up last night, when he came to the club with an expensive new girlfriend. Billy seizes the watch, which does cost more than $30,000... but was reported stolen three weeks ago. It came from one of the three jewelry store heists by the same crew in a black Ferrari. Zack did work in the Diamond District - maybe he was the inside man, killed by his accomplices?

With the help of Max's rich-kid skills, Laura tracks down Zack's socialite girlfriend, Jillian Havemeyer. Devastated to hear of his murder, Jillian admits he was more middle man than drug dealer. After the rave the other night, Zack got a text and took off to meet someone. Threatening Jillian with arrest, Laura shows her a photo of the getaway Ferrari, which Jillian thinks she recognizes as Chris Lee's - a rich boy from China. Laura takes this info back to the office, where Billy tells her the text came from an untraceable, prepaid phone. As for the car, the valet saw 10 different black Ferraris, along with a couple hundred other cars. They track down Chris Lee from his Twitter feed - "Going for the #AU today." AU, as in gold. Meredith and Billy rush over to the Gold Exchange Tower, where Chris is already on the roof. Meredith orders him to freeze, but instead, he jumps, deploying a backpack parachute. But when he lands, Laura's waiting with cuffs. Chris maintains he was only base-jumping, not stealing, and the car in the picture is not his... he would never be caught dead with Michelin tires on a Ferrari 599!

Since Laura can't make it to date night, Tony brings the date to her at the precinct. Laura's flattered, but distracted - she can't seem to shake the Jake thing. "You and I are far more serious than Jake and Angela, and I haven't even considered introducing you to the boys yet." Tony suggests a grilled cheese night and cutting Jake some slack. After all, men do love to show off their new toys. Suddenly Laura knows where to find the Ferrari. Billy and Meredith stake out at Randall's Island, the best drag strip in the city. Just when it starts getting awkward, a group of racecars shows up, including the Ferrari. The detectives order the driver to exit the vehicle, and out steps Frankie Muniz. After Meredith is finished fangirling, Frankie explains the Ferrari is just a rental from Fifth Avenue Luxury Rentals. Billy discovers that whoever rented the car paid in cash and used a fake ID. But the good news: rental car agencies monitor everywhere drivers go. Meredith maps out the robbery squad's stakeouts, which leads to their next target.

Disguised as saleswomen, Meredith and Frankie hang out inside Sidney's Jewelers as Laura and Billy watch a live feed from a surveillance van. Laura chews Billy's ear off about Tony telling her to cut Jake some slack. Billy gives her a look - "Kids benefit from having good people in their lives, whoever they are." The detectives snap back into work mode once a nervous, thuggish-looking man enters the store, pulling out a wad of cash for an engagement ring. False alarm. The detectives try to get him out of the store, but it's too late - two masked robbers pull up in a Maserati and barge into the store, guns raised. Laura orders Frankie and Meredith to stand down, but when the robber threatens to shoot the civilian, she drives the van right into the storefront, shattering the glass. As Frankie and Meredith arrest the burglars, Laura unmasks them - the Diamond District Robbery crew is none other than a cocky entitled rich guy, DB Higgins and... Jillian, Zack's girlfriend.

Laura makes peace with Jake, admitting she may have overreacted about Angela. Meanwhile, Meredith and Frankie interrogate DB and Jillian in separate rooms. Since the two of them won't crack, it's time to go old school... Billy walks right up to Jillian in her cell and hands her a Subway lunch, complete with a cookie and chips. Jillian's just as confused as DB, who instantly thinks Jillian ratted him out. Why else would the cops bring her meals? The detectives wait in another room, listening for a confession from one of them. All of a sudden, Frankie asks DB for permission to go through his phone for his lawyer's number. At first Jake and Laura are frustrated Frankie ruined their plan, but once Laura sees a picture of Zack and Jillian at the rave, she solves the case instantly. In the photo, Zack is wearing tons of eyeliner. There was no eyeliner on Zack when he was found dead, and there's only one person who would have wiped his face clean of makeup...

Billy and Laura return to Brian's garage and lay it all out: Brian tracked Zack down at the rave and texted him with what the detectives assumed was a burner phone, but Brian's credit is so bad he has to pay as he goes. When Zack came outside, Brian threw a punch, causing Zack to fall and crack his skull. Brian felt so guilty, he put Zack's body in his car, drove to the bridge and threw him off to fake a suicide. To prove her theory, Laura pops open Brian's trunk, which is covered with fluorescent body paint. Billy arrests Brian for the murder of his brother - case closed.

Later that night, Frankie visits Laura at home with a jar of 5,000 gummy bears to apologize for letting Laura down at the rave and stepping on the Subway plan. Laura tells her to stop trying to prove herself - it's already obvious Frankie's a good cop. Laura thanks Frankie and gets back to family time - Tony, her twins and grilled cheese sandwiches are waiting for her in the kitchen.
