Tony is explaining to Edward what appears to have gone wrong with the switch in his head when Mavis walks in and assures Edward that Tony, Raymond and she are the only ones that know about his 'situation.' Edward and Raymond are then sent to Berlin on a mission to kidnap a German software engineer.

In the car with Raymond in Germany, Edward lets him know that just before Henry wakes up, he gets a feeling of anxiety - he says this as a warning. Edward then goes to sleep; Henry wakes up with Raymond in Berlin. Back at Janus, Trumbull, the boss, lets 'Edward' know that he disappointed them in Paris and expects more this time. However, Trumbull is unaware that he is speaking to Henry.

Mavis tells Henry that he must now interrogate the German software engineer as Edward; Trumbull is watching him. Mavis gives Henry an earpiece so she can talk him through it. She feeds him information in German and English. Henry is then instructed to open a box containing large needles with poison. Henry takes a moment to breathe and leaves the room before doing anything.

Henry talks to Mavis about his past. Henry is struggling to believe that all of his memories are fabricated. At home, Angie finds Henry, who says he wasn't feeling well, at home going through boxes of childhood memories and photographs. Angie let him know that she booked a hotel room for later that night to give them some alone time. She also suggests he see a doctor if he's not feeling well.

Henry takes Angie's advice and pays a visit to an old doctor friend, Rafe, at a local hospital to see if he can help. There, Henry convinces Rafe to give him a CT scan because he's convinced 'someone has put something in his head' and wants Rafe to take a look. Arlene, concerned that Henry didn't show up at the office, calls Mavis to let her know. Mavis and Tony now try to find Henry.

After leaving the hospital, Henry hops on a bus back to town. Using an old contact sheet of classmates, he starts calling around to find people from his past, but continues to come up short. On the bus he is hit with an airborne toxin planted by Janus. Raymond and Mavis step in, but Henry must first choose: 'life or death.'

Mavis lets Edward know that Henry must 'get with the program.' She then has him continue the interrogation that Henry began. Not getting what he wants, Edward uses the poison on the prisoner. Angie calls in the middle of the interrogation to remind Henry of their hotel room at Shutters for that evening.

Henry, surprised, wakes up next to Angie after a long night of what apparently involved "The Hummingbird." Henry then has a session with Dr. Skinner where he talks about his insecurities in bed with Angie. Dr. Skinner asks if Angie is seeing someone else, but Henry assures her she's not - he's just concerned work has become the third person in their marriage.

Back at work, Henry calls Rafe to check on the status of his CT Scan. At the hospital, Rafe shows Henry on the scans that there is a bug planted in his brain, one that Rafe calls the 'next gens gen' - like nothing that exists currently. Henry asks for all the scans and reminds Rafe not to tell anyone, especially 'Henry,' unless he uses the password 'The Buffalo.' Rafe is confused. Henry is trying to protect him from Edward finding out and thinks a password is the best way, but doesn't explain it to Rafe.

Henry is back at the office where he receives a message from Edward on his phone. Edward assures him that the phone has hidden biometrics that can only be unlocked by either of them, as they share the same DNA, allowing for a secure line of communication between them. Edward lets Henry know that Arlene is his bridge from AJ Sun to Janus, and that she is to account for his time 'downstairs' to anyone that asks 'upstairs.' She is unaware that his is 'broken' and it must remain that way.

Arlene sends both Tom and Henry down to Janus. Raymond and 'Henry' are greeted by Trumbull and Mavis. Henry steps in to see the prisoner who proceeds to tell him he's the devil. In Mavis' office, Henry tells her what they are doing is wrong - that torture is wrong. Once again, Mavis reminds him that he is Edward, and Edward is him.

At home, Angie shows Henry she found his childhood home movies. Concerned that everything is changing, he lets her know he doesn't want to do 'The Hummingbird' again. Angie isn't sure where any of this is coming from, but lets it go. Henry is then called into Janus for work. Henry and Raymond are sent on a mission in London.

Raymond and Henry are in a van watching surveillance footage of a party that Raymond must infiltrate. Raymond descends down the outside of the building to enter another floor. Henry lets Raymond know that the suspects are close, entering the room where he is located. After Henry sees sparks and the lights go out, he enters the building to go rescue Raymond.

Once in the hallway, Henry finds the correct room and finds Raymond. There, Raymond gets into a struggle with the other suspect and Edward wakes up just in time to save Raymond. Once he returns home, Angie has Henry's home movies on DVD for the family to watch; only Edward is not as interested, but must play along.

Angie confronts Henry in the kitchen about a call from the insurance company regarding a CT scan from Rafe's office. She's concerned but Henry assures her its nothing. Edward, now clear on what Henry was doing in Inglewood, has the information he needs.

The next morning, Henry wakes up; Angie asks him how work was since he had to leave in the middle of watching his home movies. Angie then thanks him for what he did last night, something better than 'The Hummingbird.' While making breakfast, Henry turns on the home movies. On his eighth birthday, his mother gave him a baseball glove.

Henry takes the home movies and the baseball glove to Mavis. There Mavis pulls up the home movies on her computer screen to prove they are fabricated. Back at home, Angie asks him again about the CT scan the insurance company kicked back. Henry realizes that Angie told Edward about the scan. He drives over to the hospital to see Rafe. But when he gets there, he finds Rafe was killed.
