On the 8th anniversary of the death of his wife and daughter, Patrick Jane is once again confronted by Red John, who gives him the message, "Do you give up yet?" Preoccupied, Jane finds it difficult to focus on the CBI's current case, the murder of a broker whose body was found in an abandoned factory nine months after his death. While attempting to solve the case, Jane grows increasingly manic and unhinged, putting the investigation and Jane's career at the CBI - in serious jeopardy.
