Mel tries to get the kids excited about celebrating Halloween. Joe hears noises coming from the attic. When he goes to investigate, he discovers Lewis Scanlon (John Ross Bowie) hiding from the cops. Lewis asks Joe for some compassion so that he can spend one last night with his kids before going to jail. Meanwhile, no one can tell what Mel's Halloween costume is supposed to be.
