It's Halloween, which means Annie, Jake and Dennah are hitting up the craziest party in town - Halloween Hella Rage, hosted by Tupac's hologram, while Kay is going trick-or-treating. It's Gil's first Halloween in ten years without his ex-wife Cassie, and he's looking to have the time of his life... so he decides to go with Kay, because, duh, candy.

Just then, Jake and Annie's condescending super-mom neighbor Julie stops by to inform them she's planning the building's Halloween party, although she assumes they will not attend. Julie is the same age as Annie, but has three kids and loves to make Annie and her friends feel like trash.

Just as Julie leaves, Dennah walks in wearing a Halloween costume so revealing, it's pixilated. In past years, she's gone as a slutty nurse or a slutty judge, but this year, Dennah's cutting out the middleman and just going as a slut. Perhaps they are trash, Annie muses.

But while Jake and Annie are getting psyched about Hella Rage, they realize Dennah got an invite, but they didn't! Jake freaks out, but Annie thinks that maybe it's time to do something more grown up... like help plan the building's Halloween party?

At the planning meeting, Julie is in her element, barking out rules and belittling tenants. She is shocked when Jake and Annie show up, and immediately shoots down Annie's idea to throw a haunted house party in their apartment. It's too dangerous, she says, which Annie would know if she had any maternal instinct. Ouch.

Annie may not be maternal, but she sure is spiteful! She decides to do the haunted house anyway and just hide it from Julie. It turns out the haunted house is a huge hit, and the kids love Jake and Annie, or, rather, Zombie Ricky and Lucy. Everything is going great until Julie shows up and tries to chastise them for disobeying her. Jake and Annie ridicule her until she leaves, which is when Dennah calls to invite them to Hella Rage.

But Jake and Annie decide they've outgrown ragers, prompting Dennah to admit she is miserable there. It's loud, cold, and two other girls are wearing the same slut costume. She wants to come hang out with Jake and Annie, but they tell her not to, because they're about to get busy. And just as they start, they see the scariest thing of all: a child robot in their bedroom!

Meanwhile, across town, Gil takes Kay to "the best trick-or-treat street in town," except when they get there, the street is empty and silent. Gil admits he tricked Kay into trick-or-treating at Cassie's street. It's their first Halloween apart and he wants to make sure she's okay. So they go to Cassie's house and see she's throwing a party, so of course, now Gil is worried she's too happy. Gil's upset that the divorce didn't affect Cassie at all and that she got everything - even the novelty candy bowl they bought together. It's his bowl and he wants it back!

So Kay, dressed as a lizard monster, decides to take matters into her own claws. She knocks on the door and tries to yank the bowl out of Cassie's hands. Cassie fights back, screaming "my husband bought me that bowl!," but she's is no match for Kay... until Spiderman Gil tackles lizard monsters Kay and returns the bowl to Cassie. As her masked hero walks away, Cassie wonders if he could have been her ex-husband. Nah.

Back at the haunted house, Jake and Annie have identified the robot as Mason, but when they try to take him home, he won't tell them where he lives. Annie offers him $20, but just gives them a fake apartment number. He doesn't want to go home because he's having too much fun with them! Jake tries the bad cop approach, and finally Mason gives them an address. Success!

Not so much. Mason has led them to a back alley and the dumpster he claims to live in. At this point, Annie realizes they have officially kidnapped a kid, and, as much as it kills her, they should call Julie for help. Jake asks why she hates Julie so much, and it's because she's jealous. Annie is afraid she won't be as good a mom as Julie, but Jake points out that she threw such a great party, one kid refused to leave! She'll be a great mom.

So instead of calling Julie, Jake and Annie walk away, leaving Mason at his dumpster "home." But Mason gets scared and admits he lives in their building - apartment 8A. They finally take Mason home, only to find out he's one of Julie's kids! Julie threatens to call the cops until Mason tells her how much fun he had with Jake and Annie. Julie sends Mason to his room and shockingly manages to admit to Jake and Annie she was wrong about them.

"Wow, babe, you are just like Oprah," Jake tells Annie. "You don't have any kids of your own but you tell everybody else what to do with theirs."
