Duncan arrives in the nick of time to prevent Ellen from administering a lethal dose of morphine to his wife, Nina, then orders her to place a vial in a specific locker in the hospital prior to the President's next surgery. Ellen manages to sneak a sample of the liquid in the vial to the lab, where the analysis reveals that it is a bone marrow preservative. After covertly sneaking some of President Kincaid's blood for analysis as well, Ellen learns that the President and Nina share the same very rare blood type. When she confronts Duncan about it, she learns that Nina is actually the President's daughter, and that he has no idea she's actually alive. Meanwhile, Hoffman makes further inroads into the conspiracy to kill President Kincaid, and Logan informs Creasy that its only a matter of time before the investigative spotlight falls on him. Creasy orders Duncan to dispose of Hoffman, but Duncan privately sabotages the hit to save Hoffman's life. Creasy privately exposes his involvement in the conspiracy to Hoffman under the pretense of receiving immunity and protection, but Creasy is poisoned by Vanessa and Hoffman is assassinated by Logan before either can bring the conspiracy to the public.
