After the car crash, Tommy (Robbie Kay) teleports his injured mother to a nearby hospital where doctors declare that she'll require a blood transfusion to survive. Tommy takes a blood test to see if he's a match, but it comes back negative. With Emily (Gatlin Green), Tommy teleports to a blood bank in an attempt to save his mother. When he returns to the hospital, a nurse warns him that his blood test revealed that he's an EVO and triggered an alert to the federal agency that tracks EVOs. As Tommy is about to teleport away, an agent threatens to kill his mother if he runs.

After the emergence of his powers, Luke (Zachary Levi) questions the quest of hunting EVOs. He tries to convince Joanne (Judi Shekoni) to return to a normal life, but she remains intent on murdering everyone on their list. Luke finally reaches his breaking point and bravely shows her his powers. Outraged, but ultimately unwilling to kill her husband, she leaves.

Miko (Kiki Sukezane) and Ren (Toru Uchikado) head to Colorado to infiltrate Renautas headquarters, find Miko's sword and save her father. While they travel, Ren uses social media to ask his fans to meet outside the building. When Ren and Miko arrive at the facility, there are dozens of video game fans in Katana Girl costumes lined up outside the gate.

Carlos (Ryan Guzman) decides he needs to upgrade his El Vengador gear if he's going to be successful in his pursuit of Captain Dearing. Carlos builds a powerful new suit, equipped with armor and machinery. He also modifies one of Oscar's old cars. But when Carlos takes the car out for a test run, his young nephew Jose locates the El Vengador hideout under the garage. Filled with new pride for his deceased father, Jose shows Father Mauricio his own powers. But the moment is short-lived, as Captain Dearing appears and captures them both.

In the Arctic, Malina (Danika Yarosh) and her protector, Farah, head south. Malina hones her abilities to control the elements as they hike through the forest. As she practices, one of Harris' men spots them and tries to alert his companions. But before he can, Farah knocks the goon unconscious and they flee.

Taylor Kravid (Eve Harlow) begins to doubt her mother's intentions at Renautas after the disappearance of her boyfriend. When she meets HRG (Jack Coleman) and Quentin (Henry Zebrowski) inside the facility, she decides to help them locate Molly Walker (Francesca Eastwood). They find Molly in a large room of EVOs wired to machines. Renautas has discovered a way to harness their powers. As HRG tells Molly he wants to free her and find out what happened to Claire on June 13, Molly steals his gun, warning him to forget the past and save the future. She shoots herself in the head.

Harris (Cle Bennett) tells Erica (Rya Kihlstedt) that the remote tracking component of EPIC won't work after Molly's death, making it harder to find persons with abilities. Erica is frustrated, saying the fate of the human race depends on finding these EVOs. She asks Harris about "the girl," and he reveals that, before the tracking system went down, they picked up a strong signal in the Arctic.
