After trading Ja'Nel to the Blue Team at the last elimination ceremony, the contestants meet Chef Ramsay in the dining room. Some are hoping to stand out, and others are focused on redeeming themselves.

The competitors learn that their next test is a Three Entrée Relay. Each team will have 30 minutes to prepare a trio of dishes from the restaurant's regular menu. But only one cook from each group can be in the kitchen at a time, and they must swap out with a teammate every five minutes - with just 15 seconds to confer.

Chef Ramsay calls Zach and Cyndi to the hot plates and tells them that they will be cooking roasted chicken, rack of lamb and halibut. Cyndi begins by breaking down the chicken and getting the lamb seared and into the oven. Zach gets off to a slow start and barely manages to start cooking before time is up.

During their turns, Susan in the Red Kitchen and Ja'Nel on the Blue Team both make headway. Mary and Jon each try to make sense of the chaos when they take over. Cyndi and Zach complete round four, followed by another five minutes for Susan and Ja'Nel.

As the clock winds down, Jon and Mary go in to complete all three dishes in the final leg. But with seconds to go, Mary isn't able to get chicken on the plate, and Jon is forced to serve raw chicken.

Chef Ramsay judges both teams' dishes. Disappointed with each group's lamb, he refuses to give either a point. He next discovers that the women didn't plate their chicken. Since the Blue Team's poultry is cooked properly, they get a point and take the lead. In the final round, the women deliver a burnt halibut, while their opponent's fish is perfectly prepared.

The Blue Team wins the challenge. For their reward, they go on a helicopter tour of Los Angeles. Their excursion is followed by a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Gillette Ranch, where they indulge in the rarest caviar in the world.

After their absolute meltdown, the women are left behind to prep potatoes and onions for the Los Angeles Mission and get both kitchens ready for dinner service. During their afternoon of hard labor, Cyndi has trouble breathing, and a medic is called. Still feeling light-headed, she returns to work with her teammates.

Before guests arrive, Chef Ramsay explains that the final five chefs remaining after tonight's challenge will receive black jackets and go on to compete as individuals.

In the Red Kitchen, Susan on apps and Cyndi on fish help their team push forward. While Jon and Ja'Nel also get off to a good start for the Blue Team, Zach is less successful at the meat station.

Cyndi also stumbles when she jumps the gun on the entrées and then delivers improperly cooked lobster tail. Chef Ramsay calls the women into the pantry and implores them to wake up.

After the Red Team gets back on track, they move on to entrées. In the Blue Kitchen, Zach's overcooked lamb has brought his team to a halt. At the end of service, both teams are declared the winners.

However, Chef Ramsay tells the competitors that he will be handing out only four black jackets. He asks each group to pick one nominee to send home. The Blue Team selects Zach for elimination, and he is stripped of his Hell's Kitchen jacket. Even though the women choose Cyndi, Gordon decides to put the final five through one more task before he sends anyone else home.
