Hal, Kilowog, Razer, and Aya are saved by a different type of Lantern Corps from an invading space monster. Grateful for their rescue, the Star Sapphire Corps, whose power comes from The Violet Energy of love, invite everyone to their homeworld Zamaron. It turns out, however, that the whole thing was a set-up to drain the Lanterns’ power rings by encasing them in crystals. To fully capture Hal Jordan, Aga'po teleports Carol Ferris to Zamaron as a Star Sapphire. But when Carol arrives and sees Hal with a young female guide, Princess Gi'ata, she misunderstands and fights Hal. Hal manages to convince her that he still loves her and explains the war with the Red Lanterns, then Carol explains true love to Gi'ata before returning to Earth. The Lanterns escape thanks to Gi'ata, and Razer discovers that Aya based her robot form on his departed love.
