Greek Episode 3.01 The Day After

The day after the end of the world looks a whole lot like the day before at Cyprus-Rhodes. Rusty wakes up in a sea of people on the floor of the Kappa Tau living room, with Jordan in his arms and an O-chemlab report still due by the end of the day. One little problem: He can't get back into the chem building to finish.

Rusty goes to Max for help. But it turns out that, after Casey dumped him, Max quit school in the middle of the night, cleaned out his room, and booked the first flight back to London. Bye, Max. You were awesome.

Speaking of Casey, Jordan gets her big sis to help Rusty. Funny thing, Cappie decides to help him too, and with a little subterfuge, they manage to get Rusty into the lab. Awkward stuff happens there, like confessions and recriminations and broken beakers, and here's why...

The Cappie-Casey sitch: Following up the next day on the Big Rejection, Ashleigh finds Casey in their room, surrounded by the reminds of a pity party. Casey swears she got it out of her system, but Ashleigh's not convinced. She tells Casey about her little convo with Cappie on the roof. Casey tries not to get too excited, but she straps her phone to her wrist, just n case Cappie decides to call.

He doesn't. In fact, the first time they see each other post-party is when they run into each other while helping Rusty. Yep, awk-ward.

If her hangover is any clue, Rebecca seems to have had quite a night at the party herself. One of the sisters saw her making out with a mystery man. No one knows who it was, and Bex isn't telling.

Before Ashleigh can get her to confess, everyone's distracted by the new Greek game: "Gotcha!" Everybody's an assassin... and a target. You get a card with your objective on it, and you have to shoot that person with a foam bullet... before you get shot gy someone else. Last person standing gets some cash and blue ribbon points for their house. The event kicks off with a spy costume party at Omega Chi. Ash get Cappie as a target, but she trades with Casey.

Dale's got something to get off his chest, and he's determined to tell Calvin, who's working through his hangover on Dale and Rusty's couch. Calvin can't remember what happened the night before; he thinks things may have gotten out of hand with Grant. But after a little teasing. Grant assures him all they did was kiss, and none of theirs brothers is any the wiser.

Dale, on the other hand, did let his hormones get the better of him. Mr. Purity had sex! With landlady Sheila! If you think he's not feeling like the world's biggest hypocrite, think again. He tries to overcome the guilt by asking sheila to marry him. She says no and runs away, quickly. As for Rebecca's mystery man, who was he? Evan? Cappie? Nope, not even close. It was Ashleigh's boyfriend, Fisher. And just when you were on the road to redemption, Rebecca. But she runs into Evan at an ATM, where he's facing up to the cashless reality of life without a trust fund. she helps him out with money to pay for the spy party in exchange for him pretending to be her new boyfriend, high-profile flower delivery and all. Bex is buying time, but she's still super-nervous and guilty-looking.

But really, what HAPPENED with Cappie?! A flashback tells the tale. After his little talk with Ashleigh on the roof, he headed straight out to find Casey and say "Yes!" But he ran into Evan, who was drunk and blunt. He asked Cappie if, after all the drama he's been through with Casey, it would really be worth going after her. Face facts: Casey has goals and is graduating. Cappies doesn't and isn't. Maybe he should just sleep on it for a night. If he still feels the same in the morning, then go get her. But if not ... .

Cappie agrees and lets Casey go. Oh, Cappie. How can you be so awesome and so clueless at the same time?
