The Kappa Taus throw a prom, and Rusty's appointed prom chairman! Was there ever such an enthusiastic conscript? He puts everything he has into planning the big Kappa Tau Prom. See, he didn't go to his actual prom, so he's really into getting a shot at attending one.

Meanwhile, the ZBZs throw a spring formal. Casey's hanging her presidential hopes on the party coming off without a hitch. Ashleigh's so done with how being Social Chair puts a crimp in her love life, she's not even bothering with a date for the formal. Meanwhile, Frannie continues her campaigning by getting Evan to pledge the Omega Chis as dates for all the ZBZ sisters (except the ones who aren't pretty enough).Casey's worried that Max might blow the election for her by being socially awkward. Max tries to back out of the event, because he knows he's sort of an embarrassment. But Rusty's enthusiasm for prom convinces Max to make a huge romantic gesture and sweep Casey off her feet (this involves a horse-drawn carriage maybe the engineers shouldn't give each other romantic advice?).

Then Cappie cancels the prom which fully bums out Rusty. Instead, the KTs throw an "in-formal" party with a bouncy castle. Rusty's so glum, Ashleigh hatches a scheme to get him a blind date. Problem is, none of the dateless ZBZs is willing to go with him. So, Ashleigh ends up going with Rusty herself.

Cappie and Rebecca relapse. After a series of hookups, Rebecca puts the brakes on their fun-buddy 'ship. She tells him he's not over Casey, and Rebecca's not over him. They can't be casual, so they just can't be. Maybe not even friends.

Evan's clearly not over Casey. He's bowled over by her (Casey) when he swings by to pick up Frannie for the formal. He also makes Rusty's life miserable at the party by telling him Ashleigh's only on his arm as a pity date. Rusty takes this especially hard, because he couldn't get a date to his actual senior prom. Ashleigh doesn't like how Evan treats Rusty, so she puts on a big show on the dance floor: slow-dancing, snuggling, and yes, even kissing right in Evan's face!

Meanwhile, Casey goes postal over how Evan's treating Rusty. She's had all she can take and tells him off. Evan admits he's with Frannie for political reasons. He's snotty to Casey, sarcastic and bitter. In precise words, Casey tells Evan that the biggest mistake she ever made was defending him to her brother and buying into Evan's lies. She's completely done with him, and he's obviously devastated.

OK, so what about Max? He's predictably awkward at the formal. He tries really hard, though, so it's especially horrible for him when he finds out that Casey used to date Evan. He thinks Casey's embarrassed by him (which she sorta is). She doesn't mess up their relationship by letting him storm off, though. She admits she made a mistake and promises to be better because she really wants to make things work between them. They kiss in the horse-drawn carriage and then pull away from the formal. Le sigh.
