Hope and Morris enjoyed a full weekend in Kovac and Abby's honeymoon suite that Morris had rented as a present. Morris told Hope that the room was comped and they could stay for three more nights. It gave him more opportunity for "special prayer" time with Hope.
Pratt was having a hard time convincing Patina that he was a changed man. No longer the womanizer, he wanted to take her out on a real date. She declined. She told him she was tired of dating men who only liked the chase and never enjoyed the catch.
Larry wanted Sam to meet his visiting parents and they were thrilled to call her "Larry's girlfriend". She put Larry in his place letting him know that a wedding make-out session does not make her his girlfriend.
Gates brought in a patient, Sophia who fell down a flight of stairs, but was getting the cold shoulder from Morris. Morris called in Neela and the surgery team to assist the patient's head trauma. The cops later wanted to question Sophia's girlfriend, Megan for a loud argument the two had before Sophia's fall.
The Director of the ICU, Dr. Moretti was called down to take a look at Pratt's patient, Allison. The woman was a physicist visiting with her husband, James. She became feverish and had a bellyache and was only getting worst. Moretti accused Pratt of dropping the ball on the patient and not calling in help sooner.
Pratt was treating Allison's colleague, who was punched out by James. They learned that Allison's colleague was very close to Allison and James was a jealous husband. Moretti interrupted to talk to Pratt alone. Moretti thought that Pratt needed more experience since he was only familiar with Chicago when it came to his career.
Neela was ticked off with Gates giving her the cold shoulder. Gates was mad because Neela broke up with him, so he had a right to be mad. She stormed off when he accused her of being a narcissist.
Kovac and Abby went back to work and were greeted to a hero's welcome. Morris made the announcement for the ER as they walked in. Kovac also announced that he was no longer their chief and a replacement would be named shortly.
Abby got called in when Sophia started making a turn for the worst. Her heart went into a bad shock. Megan pleaded with the doctors to do all they could. Sophia told Abby earlier that Chicago had changed Megan and made her more paranoid and testier. Abby wanted to investigate Megan's mood swings further.
Gates wanted to know what his options were in getting custody of Sarah. His lawyer said he had a pretty good chance at getting custody, if he really wanted it and if Sarah really wanted it. Gates was surprised with how easy the process would be.
Patina praised Abby for being able to diagnose Sophie with a brain disorder, explaining her mood swings at home. The two women started talking about marriage and commitment and Patina told Abby she would never marry a doctor because they stay so busy. Abby stood by her decision to marry a doctor. Pratt came by to talk to Patina and Abby left.
Neela rushed Allison to Moretti at ICU hoping he could revive her. Moretti accused Neela and the surgical staff of giving him Allison so if she died, it would be ICU's fault and not surgery. They had no time to argue, Allison was slipping away. James' concern was keeping Allison's colleague out of ER while the doctors did their work. It was too late; Allison had suffered extensive brain damage.
Morris was disappointed to see Hope had checked out of her hotel. He didn't want their honeymoon to end. She told Morris that just because they checked out of the hotel, didn't mean they couldn't see where their relationship would go. Morris was happy with what Hope was saying and wanted to pursue more with her, as well.
Neela was concerned that Ray didn't come into work all day. The rest of the staff shook it off and thought Ray must be suffering from a bad hangover. Neela became more concerned when she went to Ray's and he was nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Gates had to break it to Sarah that he wanted her to move back in with him.
