Kovac confided in Abby that the board requested him to cut one attendee and he was unsure who it would be. While Abby continued to talk to Kovac, he looked outside the window and saw Ames across the street, staring back at him.

A disoriented patient grabbed Hope by the hair and accused her of stealing a ring out of his coat pocket. Ben, the new RN, intervened and put the patient in a headlock. The doctors were embarrassed that a male nurse was more macho than they were.

Kovac was treating a young girl who was brought in for head trauma and vaginal bleeding. It was later discovered that the girl had been sexually assaulted. Her Vice Principal came in, and Kovac informed her that the young girl was not doing well. Kovac was alarmed when he found out his patient was the daughter of the Angela, the hospital's attorney.

Abby had to use a rape kit on Angela's daughter, Danielle. Abby very carefully explained all of the things she was going to do and why she was going to do them. Kovac later explained to Angela and her husband that Dani was assaulted with a sharp object, possibly a razorblade.

Chazz stopped by to clear some things up with his brother. He wanted to let Pratt know that the girl Pratt saw him with earlier that morning was not his girlfriend. He reminded Pratt that he was and would always be gay.

Eddie, the man Abby had befriended weeks earlier at a bar, made a stop into the ER. He was being treated for an asthma attack and Kovac agreed to take care of him. Kovac began to get suspicious as Eddie started asking questions about Abby and Joe. Eddie apologized for intruding.

A man came in with a ten-inch pick lodged into his skull. Nobody in the hospital wanted to treat him and feared being held responsible for pulling out the pick. Morris suggested that the ER be in charge of the patient. Gates, along with others, was more skeptical. After careful thought, Hope volunteered to do it. However, when attempting to do so, she accidentally pulled the handle off and left the pick in.

Kovac went to Ames' workplace to confront him. Ames swore he had no idea where Kovac lived and also vowed he was not stalking him. Kovac grabbed Ames and warned him that if he came near Abby or Joe again, he would kill him.

Crenshaw belittled Hope for the incident with the pick. Morris defended Hope, telling Crenshaw she was the only one who even dared to pull the ice pick out, when everybody else in the hospital wanted nothing to do with it. Morris told Crenshaw he wanted to know what had happened in his life that had made him grow up to be the man that everyone hates. Hope responded by telling Morris that she could kiss him...but the moment passed.

Ben was just about finished with his first shift and stopped by to ask Sam out for a drink. She was flattered. The two were interrupted when people started gathering around the television to watch Weaver's news story. She and Courtney were watching her story from the comfort of Weaver's home. The two celebrated Weaver's story with a passionate kiss.

Ray and Neela begin arguing about Neela's relationship with Gates. Ray told her to open her eyes and see that Gates was simply jerking her around. He told Neela that she couldn't have things both ways. She had chosen Gates over Ray and the chapter was closed.

Danielle informed the doctors that she had cut herself with a razorblade. Angela didn't believe Kovac when he told her this. But, Kovac then said that Danielle had done it before and that she did it because of what happened to her mother in Detroit. Angela confided in Kovac about her rape years ago. She couldn't believe Danielle had witnessed the ordeal.

Gates told Neela that he was moving out of Meg's apartment. Neela didn't want to hear an ounce about it and attempted to give him the cold shoulder. He stopped her and let her know that he had been a complete mess since having met her. He told Neela that she reminded him of the man he wanted to be.

Chazz was busy moving out and Pratt stopped him. Pratt told his brother he needed a little time to adjust to his brother's homosexuality. Chazz compared Pratt to their father. He also told Pratt that it was obvious he couldn't deal with his homosexuality and advised him to grow up.

Kovac opened up to Abby about Ames. He told her that Ames was the man she had befriended in the park, and that he had been following him and her around. She was upset that Kovac didn't tell her this earlier. Kovac told her he had taken care of things. She was still frustrated that Kovac had left her in the dark.
