ER Episode 12.08 Two Ships

EMT Tony Gates (John Stamos) brings in a man, Martin Trudeau, for shortness of breath. Neela rides along because she still has to fulfill her hours of EMT work.

Ray is still suffering from the beating from Zoe's father. Zoe comes into the hospital looking for him and leaves him a make-up mix CD. Ray hides from her.

Abby wakes up and finds herself next to Luka. He offers to cook them breakfast, but things are still fairly awkward between them.

Greg wants to know why Martin has stopped taking his medication. He says it's because the medicine is too expensive. He doesn't seem to care about dying. After talking to Martin's wife, Greg convinces him to take the meds. He gets Martin on a helicopter to the Mayo Clinic for heart treatment.

Greg sees them off, but when he turns around, he's shocked by an explosion! A passenger jet crashes in the neighborhood and the hospital is about to be overrun.

Neela and Tony arrive immediately on the scene. It looks like a war zone. They begin assessing emergencies and start treating patients.

Victor prepares for the onslaught of patients. Abby and Luka arrive to assist and Ray controls the floor, deciding who comes and goes.

Greg arrives at the crash scene to help Neela and Tony and the other EMT's. A fireman leads him into the plane where one of the passengers actually survived. He helps another man who can't feel his arm.

Tony and Neela continue helping people when a woman, Alice Watson (Serena Williams), comes running out of her building in hysterics because her son is trapped inside.

Back at the hospital, Luka takes in the patient who survived the crash. Luka yells at Victor for letting Greg go out to the site instead of staying at the hospital.

Greg continues helping the man who can't feel his arm. It's crushed underneath a truck. They get the truck off his arm but the man goes into cardiac arrest. Greg starts compressions to save him.

The scene gets worse when Alice runs into the building to find her son. The building explodes as Neela chases after her. Neela survives and so does Alice, but they're stuck. Neela decides to rush upstairs to try and find Alice's son, despite warnings from the rescue workers.

Neela finds the boy and tries to escape the building.

Back at the hospital, Abby and Luka treat the man from the plane. He stops breathing and they suction the blood out of his throat. They release the obstruction and save the man's life.

Neela is still trying to get out of the building, but the smoke is beginning to overtake her. The firefighters rescue her and lecture her about putting everyone in danger. In addition, she loses the man she was treating earlier.

Neela can barely breathe, but she helps treat Tony, who was also pulled out of the building. Tony's liver is in danger and Neela has to open him up right at the crash site.

At the hospital, Greg and Ray try to save another man's life, Adrian. Ray yells at Greg for leaving Neela behind.

Neela brings in Tony with his packed up liver. The doctors can't believe she was able to do it in the field. Abby treats her for smoke inhalation. She tells Abby how terrifying it all was, but she's running high on the adrenaline. Neela finds out that Alice Watson died. She talks to Alice's kids, who she helped save.

Back with Adrian, Ray continues pumping his chest to keep his heart beating. They both spot Neela in another room, safe and sound. Adrian's family comes in to see him as they keep pumping. Adrian places his hand on Greg's, indicating that he should stop. Greg does and Adrian dies in front of his family.

Neela wants to go home, but Abby thinks she needs a chest X-ray. Neela disregards her — even when Abby tells her she slept with Luka — and leaves.

After the long day, Luka finds Abby. She says that their night was great together but they're not sure what to do now. Abby says maybe they should leave it at just being friends. However, it's very awkward and neither is sure of their decision.

Meanwhile, Neela goes home and there, arriving by taxi, is Mike. He's back from the war — a nice end to a tragic day.
