June jumps at the chance to take an unpaid internship position that requires her to be on-call all the time for her demanding boss, Joyce (guest star Nora Dunn). She'll have to juggle this new gig with her job at the coffee shop. That's cool. June is very responsible. This is a trait she hopes will rub off on Chloe, who has a habit of abandoning things once she gets bored.

Chloe actually does have some responsibility three days a year when she serves as the nightlife guide for foreign dignitaries when the U.N. holds its General Assembly. She knows just enough of every language to drink and dance with powerful men from all over the world. Chloe realizes she needs a personal assistant to keep all her U.N. appointments in order, so she adopts a foster child. Her name is Molly. Chloe promises June that she won't even know her new daughter is there. This all changes when she leaves Molly home alone to go to Seattle.

June is exhausted from working two jobs as well as taking care of her roomie's new kid. Chloe explains that Molly is her kid, too. That's because she told they adoption folks they were lesbian lover co-parents. Whatever, right? As predicted, Chloe no longer wants Molly as an assistant. So June takes over on the parenting front which causes her to get fired from her internship. June completely loses it and starts violently shaking Molly. She's deemed to be an unfit lesbian lover mother. These things happen.

James is doing a movie co-starring Kiernan Shipka of Mad Men fame. The project is the one version of the body-swap movie that's never been attempted before: father and daughter. James invites Kiernan over to observe how a 12-year-old girl acts so he'll be able to pull off the part. The guy's very dedicated. Too bad he has no idea how a true tween acts. No big deal. Everyone involved with the movie thinks it's a complete disaster. Well, everyone but James.
