Desperate Housewives Episode 5.15 In a World Where the Kings Are Employers

MJ gets sick on Susan's first day at her new job, so she guilts Mike into taking their son for the day. But when Susan arrives to pick up MJ, she finds a note saying he's over at Katherine's. Susan is less than thrilled, especially when MJ gives Katherine an affectionate hug goodbye.

Susan tells Mike she's not okay with the arrangement and reminds him that the judge granted custody to him, not to Katherine. She's doubly miffed then, to find MJ at Katherine's again, due to Mike being called away on another plumbing emergency. She insists everyone needs to stick to the agreed-upon schedule.

But when she's in the shower, MJ sneaks over to Katherine and asks her to make him a panini, lying that his mother knows where he is. Susan emerges from the shower, desperate to find her missing son and is infuriated to see Katherine serving him lunch. She orders MJ outside so she can accuse Katherine of trying to "get her hooks deeper into Mike," by making MJ like her. "I am being nice to the son of the man I'm dating, how does that make me evil?" Katherine wants to know. Susan tells her that her little plan won't work and that from now on, MJ is not allowed at her house. "That's going to be tricky," Katherine replies. "On the first of the month, Mike's moving in here."

Orson is astounded by how beautifully Andrew has decorated the house Bree bought for him and Alex. When Orson admires a crystal bowl, Alex remarks,"Andrew's got expensive taste. Good thing he brings in the big bucks." Bree tries to downplay the recent raise she gave Andrew -- which is news to Orson -- as a "tiny bump," but Alex can't stop talking about her extraordinary generosity.

Orson insists on knowing what Andrew's new salary is, but Bree says, "It's none of your business." "Oh my God, is he making more than me?" Orson asks, but she won't tell him. He tries to get the information from their accountant, but he doesn't have the correct password. His next move is to trick Bree into revealing the password, her pet's name. He confronts her after learning that she's paying Andrew twice his salary. "You're saying I'm worthless," he protests, but she insists, "No, you're worth ... less." Orson realizes for himself how much better Andrew is at the business then he is, and tells him so. But he can't help pocketing Andrew's expensive silver pen that he's left on the table.

Carlos's new boss, Brad, and his wife take Gaby and Carlos out to dinner to thank them: Since Carlos came on board, it's saved their marriage, they say. Gaby assures them that all of Carlos's hard work has been worth it on her end, as she's eagerly awaiting his yearly bonus. Brad has bad news: The company is foregoing bonuses this year, due to the economy. Gaby is telling her jeweler that she won't be able to afford her new bracelet when she spies Brad walking by and runs out to say hello, only to find him kissing a mystery blonde!

She's dying to tell Carlos, but Brad has beaten her home and told Carlos that he's arranged for him to get his bonus after all. Gaby talks him into upping the price by dropping the name of the hotel where she saw Brad earlier.

Brad's wife, Maria, stops by to ask Gabrielle to help her do some "detective work." Gabrielle assumes that it's about Brad's affair, but Maria just wants to know what kind of golf clubs he'd prefer. Carlos overhears her advising Maria to keep up their marriage counseling and chews her out for being ungrateful. She tells him that a certain blonde is the reason Brad gave him a $30,000 bonus. Carlos insists they give the money back, but Gaby talks him into keeping quiet -- and keeping the cash.

Brad and Maria stop by with an announcement: "We're pregnant!" Maria also wants the Solises to be the baby's godparents. "You are such kindhearted people and decent, and that is the kind of influence we want in our baby's life," Maria tells them. "How can we say no?" says Gabrielle. Maria notices that Gabrielle got her bracelet after all, and Gaby says, "Yes, but I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I was."

Lynette suggests that she and Tom close the pizzeria early since they haven't had a customer in half an hour, so Tom has the bright idea of having the staff pose as diners to lure in customers. Lynette says it's time to face facts: "If we sell this place now, we can escape with some dignity and maybe even some money." If not, they might lose everything. Tom refuses, saying he's not going out as a failure.

That night, he calls a family meeting and Lynette is sure he's finally decided to sell. "We're one-hundred percent behind you," she tells Tom, not expecting that he's going to announce that the kids are their new wait staff. The children wonder if it's even legal and protest when Tom says he won't pay them, but Lynette agrees to the last-ditch effort to save the restaurant.

Having the kids work at the pizzeria is working well enough, until the twins walk out when a group of their friends come in, saying they don't want to be "humiliated" by waiting on them. Tom flips out and slams Porter against the wall, yelling about how much the restaurant means to him. Realizing he's gone too far, Tom agrees to sell the pizzeria.

Edie wants to go away for the weekend and live it up, but Dave says he has "a lot of stuff" he has to do. She shushes him when she hears a buzzing noise, so he quickly tells her to go ahead and call the travel agent. While she's on the phone, he retrieves a cell phone he has hidden in a suitcase: It's the one that belonged to Dr. Heller, the psychiatrist he killed.

Next, he invites Mike and Katherine to come camping with them that weekend and Mike says, "It's going to be fun." "Yeah, it is," Dave says ominously as he walks away.

Edie has booked a luxury hotel for the weekend, but Dave informs her that he owes Mike a camping trip. "Camping? Have you met me?" Edie asks, and tells him he's on his own. He wants her to go so that Katherine will too, and she promises not to tell Katherine that she'll be the only female there. Dave grabs Dr. Heller's phone and texts the office, saying, "I'm just about done here." He goes into the garage and gets his camping gear -- including a gun.
