The Defenders Episode 1.07 Las Vegas v. Johnson

A renowned Vegas personality is accused of killing her rich and famous husband. Nick and Pete jump at this high-profile case. Known as Black Betty, a woman who was married to a famous Vegas personality is acused of murdering her husband. Peter takes on the case because it is so very high profile. nick doesnt want the case because he was such a big fan of the Murder victim. All the evidence seems to point to her and her boyfirend. They are implicated in stealing silver from her husband. What we find out is that he was a major drug addict. He was abusive to betty. She put up with his abuse for many years, and was getting ready to leave Duane. It takes Nick a while to come around, but soon he realises that Duane died of a drug overdose. He convinces the jury that he actually killed himself by rolling into a pillow and suffocating.
