There's an incredibly gluttonous kabob-eating contest happening on the base. Rebecca's jazzed when the Canadians win the competition, but bummed to see the head chef vomiting a short time later. Soon half the base is sick with a nasty stomach bug. Too many kabobs will get you every single time.

Investigators swarm into the hospital after a chopper goes down. The pilot was Ray, a likeable soldier who had asked Rebecca for some pick-me-up pills before heading out on the mission. She denied his request. Now Ray is clinging to life along with several other men. Ray can't be saved. Rebecca questions her earlier decision to deny him the drugs. The investigators are also questioning her call.

Rebecca's mysterious Special Ops patient known as Snake Eater is back on the base. He's feverish and prone to fainting. Snake Eater encourages Bobby to tell Suzie how he feels about her. Earlier, they were on the verge of taking their passion to the next level until both were paged. Lousy beepers! Bobby doesn't want to lead Suzie on as to the depth of their relationship. Turns out she's just looking to have a little fun. Ever get the feeling Bobby thinks too much?

In other relationship news, we learn that Ariel Garamond was once married to Graham. You remember Ariel, right? She's the soldier who was attracted to Grace. After winning the kabob-eating tourney, Ariel is recovering from stomach issues while sharing some memories with her similarly-vomiting ex. Once they're both feeling better, they also share a kiss. These two obviously still care for each other, but that doesn't mean they can make a relationship work.

The men who care for the crops on Simon's farm have come to the base in the midst of a heated disagreement. Simon asks Vans to act as his agent to help hash things out. Vans has seen Jerry Maguire three times, so he knows how to negotiate a fee. He wants a pair of Italian shoes for his services. Vans settles the dispute and swipes Simon's sunglasses as bonus payment. Show me the shades!

The colonel heading the investigation into the chopper crash wants answers as to why Rebecca would not prescribe meds to Ray after he requested them. After all, studies have shown that stimulants have been proven safe and effective for extended flight operations.

Rebecca sternly states that Ray showed no signs of excessive fatigue. She wasn't about to prescribe such a serious drug with reckless abandon. In other words, she stands up for herself and stands by her decision. It's a compelling speech that shuts up one colonel and makes another one (that would be Marks) very proud.

Ray is later cleared of any wrongdoing in the crash. Guess Rebecca made the right call after all. And now that Snake Eater is back on his feet, he's calling on her for a date. Well, they'll settle for anything close to a real date in Kandahar.
