Halstead brings in his old Army buddy Mouse as a (long-needed) tech wiz replacement for Jin. Voight grills Mouse over a couple priors, but an instantaneous and impressive hack of Voight's cellphone wins the job for the new kid, pending his ability to pass a clearance interview with Platt. When he finally sits down with the discerning desk sergeant, Mouse quietly reveals a condition that will not prevent him from receiving the job, but certainly captures Platt's attention - he suffers from PTSD.

Commander Fischer hands off an urgent case - Intelligence needs to help Narcotics find a missing undercover officer named Manning. In order to keep their ongoing investigation alive, they must conduct the search covertly, i.e. send one of their own undercover. Voight offers up his whole team, and Fischer chooses Antonio.

Despite his difficulty during a previous stint undercover, Antonio assures Voight he's prepared to go through the grueling process again, and within the day he manages to hook up with an old friend named Cooper who knows him as Diaz. To convince Cooper he's serious about re-entering the game, Antonio and Intelligence stage a mugging (and subsequent shooting) that ends with Antonio and Cooper fleeing the scene together.

While Antonio embeds himself, Voight shuffles up Intelligence for a side investigation of Manning, partnering Olinsky with Lindsay and Ruzek with Halstead. The two teams dig through both of Manning's lives and hit upon some interesting discoveries - a bag full of money and credit cards. Could this stash of cash be the reason behind his disappearance?

Trust intact, Cooper introduces him to the drug supply gang, and they agree to use Antonio for a little trial run. Antonio relays the deal to Intelligence, and they provide a fake security for the hit in order to insure Antonio's safety. Sure enough, the crew steals $3 million worth of Oxy as Intelligence looks on - or, in the case of Halstead and Olinsky, receive a little roughing up.

Meanwhile, Burgess and Roman answer a called to resolve an apartment dispute involving a squatter that Roman recognizes as big trouble. Steve, the squatter, has a history of legal conniving that always ends up with him victorious and the victims licking their wounds. After a couple unsuccessful attempts at removing him from the apartment, Roman and Burgess ask Mouch from Chicago Fire to drum up a building inspection that results in a total shocker - a dead body hidden in the newly plastered wall! Needless to say, this forces Steve out of the apartment, but the rightful owners will need to postpone their return until after their home is no longer a crime scene.

Back with the case, Intelligence manages to inform Antonio about Manning's stashed cash, and he vows to find the officer, dead or alive. Lucky for Antonio, his performance at the robbery lands him a spot on the crew, and the prompt destruction of his cellphone - which kills the switch on his wire and leaves Intelligence in the dark. The crew takes Antonio to a warehouse outside of town to deal with a snitch... Manning.

The head of the gang demands that Antonio kill him on principle. With the gun in his hand, Antonio flinches on the murder just long enough for the crew to question his loyalty. They turn their guns on him and - right before certain death - Voight and Intelligence arrive, based largely on a great tip from Mouse's intel.

Bullets fly from both directions and Voight sustains a shot to the shoulder. But between the rest of Intelligence and Antonio's quick action with a knife, the crew's quickly subdued... with the exception of Antonio's old pal Cooper, whose stunned look says it all. The man he knows as Diaz is actually a cop. Although it appears that Cooper will see a reduced deal for helping Antonio, he ends any ideas that he and Antonio/Diaz can remain friends.

Later, Halstead and Lindsay catch up, and he asks if she plans to come by his apartment tonight. Lindsay hesitates - she believes Voight suspects their relationship and his feeling spurred the decision to separate them during the undercover operation. So does this spell the end for Halstead and Lindsay? It's hard to say, but a chat with Gabriela Dawson from Chicago Fire at Molly's seems to give Lindsay some bittersweet support. It's tough to date your coworker, and Dawson should know - she was engaged to one.
