Jason Banning is brutally beaten to death with a baseball bat by an unidentified figure. Megan testifies that the murder victim's business partner, Steve Owen, is most likely the killer. The defendant's attorney, James Lawson, gets Tommy to admit that he has doubts as to his client's guilt. Megan, on the other hand, is positive Owen is the guy. DNA evidence doesn't lie. Tommy wants to talk about their difference of opinion over drinks. Surprise, surprise! Megan agrees!
Megan and Tommy's discussion about the case quickly turns into a trip down memory lane. The phrase "mind-blowing sex" pops up just before Megan says she's going home. After catching sight of a lovey-dovey couple on the street, Megan decides to head back inside. Too bad she sees Tommy chatting it up with a pretty blonde at the bar. Megan joins Adam next morning at a murder scene. The victim is the same woman who was with Tommy the night before. Her name is Skyler Green. Megan and Adam find a bloodied and confused Tommy in the bushes outside the house. He has no recollection of how he got there.
Skyler was one of the people Tommy interviewed in the Steve Owen case. She thought her old boss was innocent. Tommy thinks she may have been interested in him personally, too. Steve Owen confirms that Skyler was infatuated with him. Tommy lets Chief Angela Martin know that he believes he was drugged. His DNA is found in the victim's bed and under her fingernails. A lip reader watches surveillance video where Tommy tells Skyler she's "gonna regret this" before leaving the bar with her. Skyler was strangled with his belt. Tommy is booked for murder. Megan watches helplessly as he's taken away in cuffs.
Tommy is panicked when tests show he wasn't drugged. He swears he didn't kill Skyler. Megan and Adam believe him. They just need to prove it. That'll be tough once Chief Martin takes them both off the case. She says that Tommy got into an unprovoked fight at one of Steve Owen's clubs. She also reveals that Tommy was forced to leave the NYPD because he severely beat a suspect. Adam is starting to doubt his partner. Megan lets her mother know that Tommy isn't capable of this. Lacey chimes in to tell her mom to not give up on the man who saved both their lives.
