After a night of romance, young lovers Cameron and Maya discuss the sudden escalation of their relationship. He expresses doubts and fears due to her age and her overprotective father. Maya dismisses both concerns and instead invites him to dinner... before pulling him into another kiss.

In an effort to help the still-hobbled Odelle find her friend Aslam, her current host, the kind produce vendor Seydou, offers to approach Shakir on her behalf. He locates Shakir with ease, along with an unexpected visitor - Luc. Seydou's nerves result in scrutiny from Luc, who suspects Seydou knows something about Odelle. Concerned for his American friend's safety, Seydou sneaks Odelle out of his apartment - but Luc corners her in an alley with a gun in her face. The standoff only lasts seconds - Odelle rips away his gun, secures the thumb drive and demands that Luc take her to Aslam.

With no other choice, Luc capitulates and agrees to take her to his girlfriend's house. During their drive, Odelle seizes the opportunity to attempt another call home using Luc's cell phone, only to find herself routed directly to Colonel Glen, her call intercepted by the NSA. Devastated and irate, she hangs up on the colonel and dials the operator in search of another contact - the French bureau of The New York Times. Odelle soon speaks to a curious (but tentative) reporter named Isabel. After Isabel validates Odelle's identity, they arrange to meet at Club Cachette tomorrow.

Moments later, Odelle and Luc arrive at Serena's house only to discover Aslam ran out and returned to Shakir at Club Cachette. Luc escorts Odelle to Shakir's apartment where she and Aslam enjoy an emotional reunion. Unimpressed by Luc's role in the mess, Shakir sends him away. But their peace is only momentary. General Diallo arrives with soldiers in tow, intent on recapturing Odelle. Shakir manages to hide Odelle, but Diallo makes it clear that he will not stop... and that their romantic (and secret) relationship will never leak to the public.

Back in the States, Tsaldari and Peter meet for an urgent chat about Odelle's funeral. She contends it's all a front and, in ceremonious fashion, rejects any notion of meeting with the so-called criminals at Societel. One of the accused, Societel CEO Alex Baker, calls Peter into a meeting to dispel any notions of Societel's illegal activity - by showing Peter an old photo of Tsaldari, her late husband and known terrorist Yusuf Qasim at an oil exploration site called Black Sands. He offers an exchange: if Peter negotiates a meeting between Societel and Tsaldari, Baker keeps this photo under wraps and drops the charges against Joe.

Peter takes this intel back to Tsaldari during a lunch engagement. She dismisses Baker's accusations and reveals that Societel paid the terrorist Abdul Abbas to kill her husband and that Yusuf, despite government statements to the contrary, was set up to take the fall. Moreover, Yusuf remains alive, though in hiding, and could act as the perfect conduit to provide proof and personal accounts of Societel's illegalities. Peter cuts his discussion with Tsaldari short when he notices a familiar face in the restaurant: Cameron. Peter confronts him and demands to know if he's spying. Cameron shrugs off the allegation as Peter's own paranoia.

A little paranoid himself, Harrison heads to The New York Times to help with his father's obituary, surprised to see Ruby nearby and eager to invite herself along. They meet Randall's friend and former colleague, Emerson, whom Harrison recognizes as one of the writers involved in the Black Sands investigation. Harrison presses Emerson about Black Sands and the reporter identifies Yusuf Qasim, aka the "Jack of Spades," as the centerpiece for the story. This revives Harrison's interest in talking to Tenant, the gruff company man who kidnapped him. But Tenant's refusal to meet leaves Harrison and Ruby with only one other option to reach the Jack of Spades: Bob. However, once Bob spots Ruby, he clams up and shoos them out, clearly spooked. It's not until later, when Harrison's in his apartment without Ruby, that Bob appears with video evidence of Yusuf's presence at Odelle's funeral, right next to an imam with a mosque in Coney Island. Could that mosque lead them to Yusuf?

A new goal leads Peter to visit Joe, out on bail, at his house. He wants dirt on Baker to prevent the incriminating photo of Tsaldari from appearing in Greek newspapers. Joe caves to Peter's insistence and passes his friend a shady contact named Jenji who agrees to access the Societel mainframe - for a price. The unplanned negotiation sours Peter on the deal and he returns home to find Cameron at the dinner table with his family. He plays it cool... until the end of the night when he corners Cameron outside the house. Peter resorts to physical violence after Cameron continues his untouchable facade, and the move supports Peter's suspicions. Cameron confesses that he's being paid to connect with Maya. Not that the mild altercation will change that. Feeling powerless after Cameron drives away, Peter calls Jenji and commits to a $5,000 fee, on one condition: that Jenji send a stern message to Cameron. Jenji follows through that night... and uses a baseball bat against Cameron's face to make his point.

Harrison and Bob reach a point of no return when they run low-level surveillance at the mosque that results in the clear spotting of Yusuf. Without a clear plan, the two follow Yusuf from a safe distance - only to suddenly lose him and, seconds later, find themselves staring at a gun... and a very angry Yusuf.

At Serena's apartment, Luc toils over the loss of an opportunity. Not only did he once have a valuable thumb drive, but he also let Odelle fall through his hands. His reflection transitions to terror when Serena answers a call from an unknown number - and falls victim to a sniper's bullet through their window. A stunned Luc, splattered in the blood of his girlfriend, gives in to his instincts and scuttles away before the assassin enters: it's Frank Majors, still injured from his capture and the bombing, but very much alive. And when he turns over the dead body of Serena, he realizes Odelle is still alive.
