Cofeld and Eddie are sitting in the living room playing cards when Cofeld gets an itch and asks Eddie to scratch it. Eddie tells him that scratching his back would be crossing the line. Just then, Woodcock comes in and Cofeld asks him to scratch his back, Woodcock agrees a little too heartily and turns Cofeld off with his exuberant scratching. Cofeld gets up to leave and mentions he will see Eddie on Sunday for dinner with the wives. Jeff suggests they come over to his house on Sunday for dinner and wants Cofeld and Eddie to come over. He says they will use their Brady Bunch place mats.

Sunday, at the Woodcocks, Eddie, Joy, Cofeld, and Nicole are being entertained by Jeff and Steph. Jeff is regaling them with an anecdote that no one but Steph thinks is funny. Jeff, failing at entertaining, is saved by Steph who offers up something called "The Book of Questions" which is a book of personal questions to get to know each other better. After Steph asks the first question, Eddie feels uncomfortable and leaves with Joy. Cofeld and Nicole are left to hang out with the Woodcocks.

The next day at work, Nicole tells Joy that after Joy and Eddie left, she and Cofeld had a great time at the Woodcock's. Nicole tells Joy that she and Cofeld are going to hang out with the Woodcocks and asks Joy if it's ok. Joy says it's fine if they want to hang out with the Woodcocks and almost immediately after, Steph calls Nicole at work to talk about their night hanging out together.

Joy comes home and tells Eddie that the Woodcocks want to hang out with the Cofelds now. Eddie and Joy are overjoyed that they don't have to hand out with them anymore and talk about all the things they can do again now that they don't have to see Steph and Jeff. They start making out and head for the bedroom.

The next day in the living room, Cofeld is scratching himself again and tells Eddie that he is having a great time being friends with Jeff. Cofeld tells Eddie that Jeff just got a new haircut. The next morning, Eddie goes over to the Woodcocks to find Jeff for their carpool. Steph tells him that he doesn't need to carpool with Eddie anymore because he is working out in the morning with Cofeld now. At home, Eddie finds Joy looking through their windows at the Woodcocks house. They realize that they miss the Woodcocks and decide to call them on the phone. Eddie calls and Jeff picks up and Eddie invites the Woodcocks out to dinner Saturday night. He checks with Steph who says they have plans with the Cofeld's that night. She also tells him to lie about their plans to Eddie. Jeff feels bad about lying so Steph tells him about how in college she was dating two guys at the same time. She felt guilty about it so she told both of them and was dumped by both, so she tells Jeff that lying is ok. Jeff is upset that she had to tell him about having two boyfriends at the same time.

Eddie and Joy are at the movies when they see the Cofelds and Woodcocks coming out of a movie theatre together. Eddie confronts them and when Jeff tries to explain, Steph tries to tell them her two lovers in college story but Jeff cuts her off. Jeff tells Eddie that he feels that Eddie and Joy hate them and that they like spending time with the Cofelds. Eddie tries to make friends by saying he will do whatever the Woodcocks want to do when Steph says that it's Sunday and that they are going to church.

The next day at church, Eddie and Joy show up wearing loud, bright clothes. They sit in the back and try to get the Woodcocks' attention by yelling at them. The preacher tells the congregation to thank their neighbors and Eddie sees Jeff thanking Cofeld. The preacher tells the congregation about how Jesus was friends with everyone. Eddie feels guilty and gets up and apologizes to the Woodcocks in front of the whole church.

Later, at home, Eddie is scratching his back when Jeff comes in and asks if he can scratch Eddie's back. Eddie agrees and Jeff asks if Eddie will scratch his back after.
