'Til Death Episode 1.05 The Garage Band

Eddie and Jeff return home from work but Jeff doesn't want to go home. Eddie realizes that Jeff is looking to get a alone time instead of being around Steph every waking moment. Steph pops up behind them and tells Jeff a horrible story about writing her thesis.

At the Stark's, Jeff is freaking out because Eddie was right and he's not getting any alone time. Eddie tells Jeff that he needs to find an activity that the wife can't argue about. Eddie says his activity is his "garage band." The truth is, Eddie isn't really in a band. He really hangs out in his friend's garage that he converted to a game room.

Jeff reads the morning paper in the shower. Steph enters and breaks up Jeff's alone time. Steph asks if Jeff is getting sick of her, and Jeff says he's joining Eddie's band.

Eddie gets ready for "band practice." He tells Joy he's working on a new bass solo so he could be gone for most of the day. Joy says she'll be at home, paying bills, but Eddie says the garage band is on the calendar and here's nothing Joy can do to change that.

Eddie arrives at his friend's garage. A group of his friends are playing cards and watching TV. There's a knock at the door. When Eddie answers, it's Jeff. Jeff tells Eddie that he told Steph about the band. Eddie is less than pleased because he sees Jeff enough.

The next weekend, Steph visits Joy, looking for someone to talk to since Jeff is at band practice. Joy says she's busy, so Steph says maybe she'll go stop by the garage band practice. Joy tells Steph the truth, there is no garage band. It's just a place for the boys to hide from the wives. Steph is crushed. Joy tells her that she's not actually paying bills, she uses that as her way to get time away from Eddie.

The guys relax in the garage, when there's a knock at the door. It's Steph, and the guys get defensive. Jeff tries to cover by saying the band is on break, but Steph demands that they prove they're a band. The men are nervous to play, and when they start, it's a mess. The guys beg Steph not to tell their wives. Steph is upset with Jeff because she knows he's hiding from her. Steph blows Joy's cover and tells Eddie that Joy knows about the band.

Eddie finds Joy at a musical. Eddie gets frustrated because Joy was making Eddie feel guilty about being in the band when she herself was out having fun. The two agree that they should be able to go out and have fun without feeling guilty, and maybe even have a little fun together.

Jeff returns to the fake band practice but the guys have made a decision. Jeff is never allowed back.
