'Bunheads' Says Goodbye With Farewell Dance

"" bids farewell to viewers with one last dance. Some key cast members, including Bailey Buntain (Ginny), Julia Goldani Telles (Sasha) and Jeanine Mason (Cozette), recently reunited to film the farewell dance directed by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Set to 's "Blues for Baby and Me", the dance is choreographed by Marguerite Derricks. It pays homage to most notable routines on the show, such as the "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" number.

"" has joined the list of short-lived shows. The one-hour ballet drama from Amy Sherman-Palladino has been officially canceled after being on the bubble since wrapping up its first and now only season in February.

The series had amazing storytelling, the most talented cast and a passionate and loyal fan base," ABC Family announces in a statement. "Recognizing all of this, we took extra time to try and find ways to bring the series back for another season, but in the end it simply wasn't possible. Is "" getting the axe? ABC Family has not delivered the verdict on the show's future but latest report doesn't show a good sign for the show. According to New York Magazine's Vulture, the network has torn down the sets of the show, which wrapped up its freshman run on February 25.

The set disassembling is just one of hints at the series' possible doom, though some show had struck sets between seasons in the past. The drama created by Amy Sherman-Palladino was not submitted for Emmy consideration along with six other ABC Family series, "", "", "", "", "" and "".

Shonda Rhimes Slams 'Bunheads' Over Lack of Diversity

Having won a number of recognitions at NAACP Image Awards, Shonda Rhimes isn't holding back her criticism over the lack of black actors on "". At almost the same time the show premiered on ABC Family, the creator of Golden Globe-winning series "" wrote on her Twitter page, "Hey @abcfbunheads: really? You couldn't cast even ONE young dancer of color so I could feel good about my kid watching this show? NOT ONE?"

Denying that she intentionally includes this similarity on the upcoming show, the creator tells TVLine, "As far as the small town, it just became [small], honestly, by necessity."

On the similar storyline which follows three generations of women, the wife of writer/producer Daniel Palladino simply claims, "And as far as the generational stuff, look, I just like that."
