Kelsey Grammer's 'Boss' Canceled After Two Seasons

has not had much luck in his past few series. Starz has announced that they will not move forward with the comedian's new political drama "" after two seasons. However, sources said that the series could be wrapped up with a two-hour movie.

"After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to not proceed with [a third season of] Boss," Starz said in a statement Tuesday, November 20. "We remain proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, [creator] Farhad Safinia and our partners at Lionsgate TV."

A new trailer for "" season 2 has made its way out online to tide fans over the show's return. While 's Tom Kane still tries to keep a secret of his battling a degenerative brain disorder, his health issue will create a bigger problem for him as he is seen shaking and collapsing on two different occasions. He is also featured yelling at his men and angrily pushing a chair in other scenes.

A family issue will also come on the mayor of Chicago's way since his daughter Emma (Hannah Ware) shows her resentment to him following her arrest. She even calls her estranged father a "monster." The promo video also hints that 's Ian Todd may make a deal with Emma to throw someone into a jail.

The first sneak peek to "" season 2 has landed online, giving a look at what 's Tom Kane is going to deal with next. His health issue in one of the things highlighted in the trailer as he continues battling a degenerative brain disorder.

After one of his advisers reminds him that his "best days are behind" him, the mayor of Chicago thinks it may be the time to find new leadership. In the meantime, he still has to face his enemy. "The only thing that's believable about you is that you have the unmitigated stupidity to threaten the mayor of Chicago," so he tells someone who threatens him.

'Boss' Loses Its Two Showrunners

's "" has just lost its bosses. Richard Levine and Lyn Greene, who served as executive producers/co-showrunners, have reportedly left the new political show which recently debuted its first season on Friday, October 21.

There is no word on why Levine and Greene quit the Starz new series, but Deadline says search is currently underway for a new writing executive producer to join Farhad Safinia in season 2. Also executive producing the show are Grammer, Brian Sher, Stella Bulochnikov and "" director Gus Van Sant.
