But, that's exactly the case between Clouseau (Steve Martin) and Ponton (Jean Reno) in the reboot of "The Pink Panther" series. Assigned to solve the murder of a famous soccer coach and the theft of the famous Pink Panther diamond, oblivious idiot and third class detective Clouseau teams up with his newly-assigned underling Ponton, an experienced and skilled gendarme whose entire family work in the police forces. Together, these two form an awkward but sweet partnership.
