Brad Paisley Donates Single Royalties to Tornado Victims

The 'She's Everything' singer has decided to hand over the proceeds he got from the digital sales of his latest single 'Old Alabama' to tornado relief fund via the American Red Cross.

Country singer Brad Paisley has donated a portion of the proceeds from his current hit "Old Alabama" to the state's tornado relief fund. After severe storms swept across America last week (beginning April 25), leveling entire neighborhoods and claiming nearly 300 lives, Paisley decided to hand over all the song's U.S. digital sales to the American Red Cross to the victims living in Alabama.

Paisley ironically penned the tune as a tribute to the country rock band Alabama before tornadoes reeked havoc in the southern state. To People magazine, the 38-year-old country hitmaker shared, "When I first started playing music, if you didn't cover an Alabama song in your set, you might as well go home."

The husband of actress Kimberly Williams sang "Old Alabama" on Tuesday night, May 3. He performed the second single off his "This Is Country Music" album at the Grand Ole Opry with the band Alabama to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Nashville flood.
