Ellie Goulding 'Honoured' to Perform at Royal Wedding

British pop star Ellie Goulding has confirmed she sang at Britain's royal wedding on Friday as Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge took to the floor for their first dance.


Prince William and Kate Middleton become Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, now to be exchanged vows at London's Westminster Abbey before retreating to Buckingham Palace to celebrate their marriage with family and friends. Prince William's father, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, hosted a lavish dinner and reception for the pair later in the evening, and guests were treated to a performance from Ellie Goulding.

The "Starry Eyed" hitmaker performed Sir Elton John's hit track "Your Song" as William and his bride enjoyed their first dance as man and wife, and has now spoken of her joy at being asked to sing at such a special occasion.

She says, "It was an amazing honour to be asked by Kate and William to perform at their party. The atmosphere was incredible and it is a night I will never forget."
