The British actor, who was famous for his role as Bruce Wayne's butler in Tim Burton's 'Batman' films, has died on Thursday, March 17, at the age of 94.
British actor Michael Gough has died, aged 94. The star, famed for his role as Bruce Wayne's butler in Tim Burton's "Batman" films, passed away on Thursday, March 17. The cause of death is unknown.
Gough started his acting career playing a range of roles in Hammer movies including 1958's "Dracula" and "Phantom of the Opera" in 1962, before going on to win a Best Actor Tony award for stage show "Bedroom Farce" in 1979.
He then rose to prominence playing Alfred Pennyworth in Burton's "Batman" franchise from 1989, before Michael Caine took over the part for 2005's "Batman Begins" opposite Christian Bale.
Gough also worked with Burton on films "Sleepy Hollow", "Corpse Bride" and "Alice In Wonderland", alongside Johnny Depp.
