The veteran actress was honored in New York Gala, February 9 for her long dedication in the fundraising of AIDS charity.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor was honored for her longstanding AIDS charity work at a star-studded gala in New York on Wednesday, February 9 .

The Hollywood legend is the founding international chairman of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, and also created the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation (ETAF). She devotes much of her time to fundraising, and amfAR bosses celebrated her achievements at a party in the "Big Apple" to mark the organization's 25th anniversary.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg were also among the honorees. Sir Elton John, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwick, who pledged all royalties from their 1985 rendition of "That's What Friends Are For" to the foundation, reunited on stage to sing the track.
