Rapper Juelz Santana has been arrested on drug and gun possession charges in connection with a raid on his New Jersey recording studio last month. The hip-hop star's Santana's World base was busted by officers from the New Jersey Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and Gang Unit on January 20.
Santana's protege Hynief, who was at the venue, was arrested after a search of the building allegedly turned up two loaded handguns with additional boxes of ammunition and a large stash of marijuana. He was subsequently freed after posting $50,000 bail.
Cops had been searching for Santana since the raid, and on Wednesday, February 2 he was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a handgun without a permit, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, reports The Record.
The rapper, real name Laron James, is currently being held at Bergen County Jail on $125,000 bail.
