Colombian pop star Juanes has canceled an upcoming Miami, Florida show after realizing it falls on the 50th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs invasion. The singer was reportedly horrified when aides told him of the importance of the April 15 gig at the American Airlines Arena.
A source tells the Associated Press Juanes didn't realize it was the anniversary when he booked the concert. A new date will be announced.
In April, 1961 Cuban exiles launched an attempt to overthrow the new government of Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Castro. The incident became known as the Bay of Pigs invasion.
