'We hear about stories like this all the time and they always turn out to be pranks,' his rep says about the profile which appears on network Scruff.
A profile on a gay dating site purportedly belonging to George Michael has been branded a fake by the singer's representative. Pictures of a man resembling the "Faith" hitmaker appeared on gay social network Scruff recently, prompting speculation the star had signed up to look for a partner.
But the Brit's spokesperson has revealed the profile is the work of an internet prankster. Michael's rep tells Britain's Daily Mail Online, "We hear about stories like this all the time and they always turn out to be pranks."
George Michael previously dated Kenny Goss but he was reported splitting from his longtime love after allegedly spotted kissing another man on vacation in Australia in early 2010.
