In response to Pete Doherty's plea to have his drug possession charge dropped, judge rejected the request.

A London judge has rejected a plea by British rocker Pete Doherty's legal team to have his cocaine possession case thrown out of court. The singer was charged with the drug count in September, alongside his two friends, Peter Wolfe and Alan Wass, following an investigation into the death of filmmaker Robyn Whitehead.

Director Whitehead, who was working on a documentary about the troubled The Libertines star, was found dead from a suspected drug overdose in an apartment in Hackney, London in January 2010. The trio's legal team requested that the case was thrown out at Thames Magistrates' Court in east London on Friday, January 14 but a judge dismissed the plea, according to Britain's Daily Star.

Doherty and his co-defendants, none of whom turned up for the hearing, are set to appear in court on February 2.
