A fan of sci-fi 'Star Trek', the actor has a dream come true as his character on the drama series owns Captain Kirk's chair.
Actor Christian Slater's "Star Trek" dreams have come true on the set of his new TV drama "Breaking In" - his character owns Captain Kirk's chair. Slater was a huge fan of the sci-fi series growing up and when producers and writers of his new show, in which he plays a high-powered security hacker, asked for his input as they were crafting his character, Oz, he suggested they should get him the chair from the Starship Enterprise.
Slater tells WENN, "I would make suggestions for the character of Oz and they would incorporate things that made me very happy. Some of the things that I wanted to incorporate were very difficult and you would have to have approvals and trademark elements - Star Trek being the main thing. For me the idea of getting to sit in Captain Kirk's chair was a personal fantasy."
"In a way I'm using this show as an opportunity to live out as many fantasies as I can possibly get away with on TV. I just did The Power of Few with Christopher Walken in New Orleans. He is certainly quirky and eccentric. I'd like him to play my father in the show at some point."
