Celebrity

After his battle with throat cancer last year, the actor is determined to beat the disease by leading a healthy lifestyle.

AceShowbiz - Michael Douglas has vowed to cut down his drinking and quit smoking as part of his recovery from cancer. The Hollywood superstar was diagnosed with a tumor in his throat in August and subsequently underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment in a bid to beat the deadly disease.

Douglas, who claims to have won his fight with cancer, has previously conceded his lifestyle choices are likely to have played a part in his illness, and in a new TV interview, he has promised to change his bad habits for the sake of his health.

He tells Access Hollywood, "I'm going to change my diet a lot based on what I've learned. I'm sure I'm still going to have a glass of wine or two, but this particular cancer was motivated in a large part by alcohol and tobacco smoking."
