Pink Floyd Settle Dispute With EMI


There is a new contract that will have the band under a certain agreement five years long.

Pink Floyd have put their legal dispute with EMI bosses firmly behind them - they've signed a new contract with the label. The "Comfortably Numb" hitmakers have inked a five-year deal with executives at the firm, who first signed the band in the 1960s. A statement from EMI reads: "All legal disputes between the band and the company have been settled as a result of this new deal."

The agreement comes one month after a judge ruled EMI bosses breached a previous deal by selling single Pink Floyd tracks online. The band had argued that their "seamless" albums should not be split up to be sold on the internet, while EMI claimed the previous contract had been drawn up before the digital era and didn't outline regulations for online distribution.
