The critics awards is best recommendation for the upcoming Oscar contenders but hotly-tipped 'The Black Swan' only receives one nod.

"The Social Network" is making friends all over the board - David Fincher's hit movie has landed the Best Film and Best Director titles from the New York Film Critics Circle.

The drama, chronicling the invention of Facebook.com and starring Jesse Eisenberg, has already been hailed as the picture of the year from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the National Board of Review and the New York Film Critics Online, and now it's garnered the same acclaim from the New York Film Critics Circle.

Colin Firth's portrayal of King George VI in "The King's Speech" also received high praise, earning the Brit Best Actor, while Annette Bening scored the Best Actress prize for "The Kids Are All Right". The family drama also won awards for Mark Ruffalo (Best Supporting Actor) and Best Screenplay for Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg.

Melissa Leo was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mark Wahlberg's upcoming boxing biopic "The Fighter" and "The Illusionist" took Best Animated Film. Hotly-tipped Oscar favorite "The Black Swan" only garnered one honor - for Best Cinematography.

The New York Film Critics Circle's top picks are considered to be among the best indicators in the run up to the Academy Awards. The honors will be presented during a ceremony in New York on January 10.
