Johnny Cash's Personal Stuffs Raise $700,000 at Auction
The late singer's blue denim jumpsuit sells for $50,000 while a guitar he used to write the first four lines of his track 'I Walk The Line' made another $50,000.

Johnny Cash's costumes, instruments and handwritten lyrics have smashed original estimates and raised more than $700,000 at auction. The Man In Black's possessions were sold off in Los Angeles in a lengthy three-day auction, which included a staggering 1,000 lots, over the weekend, December 4-5.

The priciest item up for grabs was the famous blue denim jumpsuit worn by Cash in an iconic Jim Marshall photograph, which shows the late star flicking his middle finger to the camera. The item was expected to sell for between $3,000 to $5,000, but soared up to a massive $50,000.

A guitar which Cash used to write the first four lines of his track "I Walk The Line" also made $50,000. The Julien's Auctions event raised more than $700,000 in total and a portion of the proceeds will be given to the MusiCares charity, which helps musicians with health or financial problems.

The event marks the largest sale of Cash memorabilia since a 2004 auction which was was held to pay for estate taxes following the singer's death in 2003.
