Mel Gibson Fights to Take Custody of Lucia From Oksana Grigorieva

Mel Gibson

After the Russian singer defied judge advice not to speak to public about her battle with Gibson, the actor's lawyer urges Judge Scott Gordon to grant Gibson custody of their daughter.

Mel Gibson's lawyers have launched a bid to strip the star's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva of her custody rights regarding their child, insisting she is not acting in the best interests of the child. The former couple has been battling over little Lucia since splitting earlier this year and Grigorieva spoke candidly about claims she was beaten by the actor on news show "Larry King Live", which aired in the U.S. on Wednesday night, November 17.

The Russian singer opened up about the allegedly abusive relationship, claiming she feared for her life when her ex reportedly struck her during a heated argument in January. Gibson's legal advisors have pounced on the interview and are preparing to argue that her false and derogatory public comments about the actor suggest she's only interested in damaging his reputation, reports

His lawyers want Los Angeles court Judge Scott Gordon to grant Gibson custody of Lucia and only allow Grigorieva monitored visits during the day. Judge Gordon had previously warned the Russian not to discuss the case with the press or risk losing custody of the tot.

A hearing has been set for Monday, November 22.

Please - Oxana has had over 40 lawyers at her disposal, all at Mel's expense. Plus her own PR person. Her story changes everytime she tells it. As a true feminist, I don't support a woman just because of her sex, I treat all equally. Her story changes constantly and I have yet to see her do one thing that shows she is protecting that baby.

Mel is doing exactly what abusive men do, abuse the woman and further the abuse by doing all he can to take the child. This baby is being treated as a pawn by Mel and he shows no regard for this baby. By speaking the truth, she is not harming the baby and in fact is acting in the child's best interest as going public might help Mel get the help he s needs. The judge mad a bad decision but while she legally disobeyed the judge, it is no reason to punich thechild by removing her from her loving mother. At most she should get is afine fr disregard the jdge but the ruling violated her rights to fre speech.

Here we have nothing more than a mother and abused woman who is being threatened with the only thing that means anything to her. Regular moms (meaning those of the non-celebrity status) are threatened with this all the time. Why does Gibson get away with this? He should be facing a trial which has not even been set yet. And she is supposed to fight against his millions? Oksana I would high tail it out of the US, you will NEVER get a fair shake here. No mom will as long as men rule the world.

Oxana is doing everything to protect her child from a batterer---she could be the new voice that kicks open the door to the corrupt family courts across the USA....go Oxana...
