Blur star Alex James is not a fan of Motley Crue - he has branded the group's music "rubbish" and the rockers "muppets". The bassist has dismissed the American group's musical offerings and poked fun at them during an appearance on British TV show Richard Bacon's Beer & Pizza Club.
He says, "You wouldn't have had a good time in Motley Crue because the best thing about being in a band is actually playing the music. If you just want to be a famous muppet, fine, Motley Crue. But the greatest thing about being in a band is the music. It was b**ody rubbish that (Motley Crue) music was."
But James has a secret musical guilty pleasure: "If the Spice Girls were going to do another tour I could be dancing with them. That first album is amazing - everything a great pop record should be. Wannabe is one of the all time greatest songs."
