The two stars, along with filmmakers Darren Aronofsky and James Schamus, will receive career tribute honors at the 20th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York in November.

Robert Duvall, Hilary Swank and filmmakers Darren Aronofsky and James Schamus are to be honored at the 20th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York in November. All four will be presented with a career tribute at the event, which traditionally launches the film awards season.

The Gotham Independent Film Awards features seven competitive categories for Best Feature, Best Documentary, Breakthrough Director, Breakthrough Actor, Best Ensemble Performance, Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You and the new Festival Genius Audience Award.

Joana Vicente, executive director of Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), said, "We are moved and honored to give tribute to four cinematic film luminaries, all of whom have had their roots in independent film, and have steadfastly focused on the art of film, irrespective of the size of the budget of their work."
