The 'Avatar' filmmaker is going to be handed the top prize at the Producers Guild of America's 22nd annual award show in Los Angeles next year.
Moviemaker James Cameron is to be honored with the Producers Guild of America's top prize for his contributions to showbusiness. The "Avatar" and "Titanic" director has been named the latest recipient of the organization's Milestone Award.
The honor will be bestowed on Cameron at the PGA's 22nd annual award show in Los Angeles next year. Tom Cruise's former business partner Paula Wagner, who is the chairperson of the 2011 PGA Awards, says, "James Cameron is an exceptionally talented producer... He has continued to change the film landscape with his ability to deliver groundbreaking masterpieces that present audiences and the industry with unrivaled beauty, originality and impact."
Past recipients of the Milestone Award include Clint Eastwood, Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock.
