Jailed rapper Lil Wayne has reason to smile while behind bars - he has been named Urban Songwriter of the Year for the second time at the BMI Urban Awards. The incarcerated star, who is serving time for weapons possession, claimed the honour for the second year running at the prizegiving on Friday night, September 10.

Urban publisher of the year, meanwhile, went to EMI Music Publishing. The company was recognized for 15 of BMI most-performed R&B, rap and hip-hop songs of the past year, including Drake's "Best I Ever Had," Beyonce Knowles' "Ego" and Jay-Z's "Run This Town".
