Lionel Richie is still struggling to come to terms with the death of Michael Jackson. The veteran singer misses his pal "every single solitary day".

Richie enjoyed a long friendship with the "Thriller" hitmaker, who was godfather to his daughter Nicole Richie, and he was devastated when he passed away in 2009. And more than a year after the tragedy, Richie admits he is still grieving the King of Pop.

He tells Britain's The Sun, "I think about Michael every single solitary day. If you have ever lost a parent, you'll know that you'll do something and think, 'Oh I'll ring mum and tell her.' Then you remember you can't ring mum. It's the same with Michael. I think of something I want to tell him and then I remember. How can you even comprehend that? It's just too much. He was a big part of my life..."

I'm a 39 year old woman from Montreal, and i've been of fan of Michael Jackson since I was 8 years old. I have everything from, his beat it jacket earrings, single glove, lots of posters and scrapbooks. What happened to Michael was not called for, he was a GREAT performer, everything he touched turned to GOLD..... To me, and many others he will always be The KING of Pop. All he wanted to do was be loved and make his fans proud all he wanted was peace but all he got was people accusing him of WRONG accusations..... Michael Rest In Peace, my prayers go out to his family. Michael you've inspired me in many ways, listen to your music everyday, even though I personnaly never met you I feel like I've known you for years. I wish I did tough!!!! think of you everyday

I feel the same way like Lionel Richie- eventhough, I've never seen or knew Michael Jackson personally. I missed him much! Can't stop thinking about what went wrong- why did it have to happen so soon. RIP my sweet angel

LIONEL is certainly not alone, I too have loved Michael for more than 40 years and stil can't believe he's gone. I didn't even know him like Lionel did. It's a big loss and all the injustice around his death and Murray now wanting to 'exhume' MJ's body makes me even sadder. Why can't they leave him alone. And those poor children, what will become of them. I hope his REAL friends like Lionel will help Katherine watch over them. I saw the kid's reaction to Lionel on the Grammy's, they really love him.

Lionel is not alone. I cry when I'm alone. I can't shake this lonely feeling.MJ has been part of my life for 40 years and I have always felt like he was family to me. I pray for his soul and for his real famliy everyday. I want this feeling to at least simmer but I don't know what it will take and how long, but I'll manage.
