REMG Entertainment alleged the rapped pulled the plug 24 hours before he was due to take the stage in Canada.
Hip-hop star Mos Def is facing a lawsuit from concert promoters who allege he canceled a show just 24 hours before his scheduled slot. The rapper was due to perform at the Kool Haus in Toronto, Canada on February 24, according to papers filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday, August 26.
But Mos Def, real name Dante Smith, allegedly pulled out of the gig just one day before, despite taking a $12,500 deposit on the condition he would perform. REMG Entertainment bosses claim he failed to return the money and they lost another $45,000 in "lost customers, sales, and goodwill", reports TMZ.com.
Bosses at the company are suing for at least $57,500.
